So may interesting things to see in this wonderful house museum. The patterned tin ceilings are especially interesting. It is a work in progress so if we go back, we will be sure to check it out again.
An author, a poet, lawyer, teacher, pilot this guy did lot and it was all co-ordinated through this house of wonders. Wonderfully preserved, although not well protected from the mobs who come to visit, it is an inspiration to walk the halls and view his personal effects. Hopefully more will be opened. If you want to understand more hoe Cuencan's lived 60 or so years ago, go visit. Right on Calle laga across from a lookalike starbuck's.
This is the former home of the writer, journalist, educator and politician as the name suggests. The house is as he and his family lived in it. It has only reopened months ago after being refurbished. There is no admission charge to get in. All you need to do is sign a guest list with your passport number. Being directly across from Goza Restaurant, you can continue there for a rest if needed.
Just reopened two months ago, this museum is the former home of poet, Remigio Crespo Toral. He lived between 1860 and 1939 and had a wide ranging career as an author, journalist, educator, lawyer and diplomat. Other sites I have found regarding this museum are now outdated with incorrect information. The museum has a free entry. There are three primary rooms to witness the way Toral, his wife and 10 children lived. The wallpapers and ceiling wall borders are worthy of a look. Recently, we attended a piano recital held in the museum. The director opened the evening by stating this is a work in progress. As funds are procured they will open more rooms as well as the garden in the back. It would be disappointing to come to Cuenca and not see this little gem.
