Likes -- Timely, relatively inexpensive, departues from Penn to Jamaica about every 2 minutes (Kidding)Dislikes - Filthy cars, Jamaica Station
Good service, on time. Strange pricing. A round trip ticket, Jamaica to Penn, purchased at identical kiosks, are priced markedly differently. i don't know how to know that beforehand. I paid $16 for $8 ticket bought at Hempstead.
We took the LIRR when driving to NYC from Jamaica and it's a good connection. If you take all into account it takes you some time to get there.
It performed its function. It got us to our destination. It was late at night, cold and we had no idea where to go or what to do. Need better airport signs and phones that work.
If you land at JFK get the airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica station it costs $5 you pay once you get to Jamaica station you are best getting a $30 7 day metro card as this does the airtrain the subway and the buses ,once at Jamaica station go to ticket booth get a return ticket to Penn station it takes about 15 minutes from Jamaica station to Penn station and you are in the heart of Manhattan, very easy trip plus you see the real New york
First stop was Duckwalk Winery where we got 6 tastings. Had a great time. Next stop was Greenport where we were on own to eat, shop and sightsee. Food was really good at Crabby Jerry's on the water and the view was great! Next stop was Briermier's Farm for some great pies and fresh produce. Last stop before heading home was Baiting Hollow Farm Winery. The place was packed and too noisy. They do have horse rescue on the premises where they offer tours weather permittting. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to rain. They did offer food which was really expensive and not the best. We were told they were also having pie tasting which we couldn't find. Escort from the LIRR - Ron - was great - friendly and knowledgeable.
