Thank you for taking the time to give us such a positive review! Glad you enjoyed your experience and found our staff helpful, we hope to welcome you and your friends and family again soon!
We had an amazing time. It's well worth the money and you get your monies worth. We took the 4pm ride and the views were spectacular. Only thing I recommend is a step to get down into the boat and an intercom system on the boat. Other than that, you must do this!
If you are a thrill seeker, this sure beats getting in to a barrel and going over the Falls ! The adrenaline rush matches the ferocity of the rapids. Great customer service and an unbeatable experience. These jet boats are modern and luxurious - and they literally rock. Go now and you will catch the Fall Foliage from cliff top to river as an added value. No better way to enjoy the Gorge close up and personal. It was a 6 scale rapids but a 10 in my book. My family group consisted of a 13 and 15 year old plus relatives from Italy in their early 30's. Easy to park.
I would highly recommend this! Staff is fantastic and the ride is exciting! Would go back in a heartbeat!
Amazing experience, definately something that needs to be done when in Niagara Falls. The boat and in general the ride are very safe, captain Paul has a lot of experience navigating the rapids. Wonderful people!
Great way to get photos of the lower niagara river and all the white water action. You do have to hold onto the railings but at least you're not drenched when it's over. You can (and should) bing your camera. The view is amazing from down in the Niagara Gorge. This boat feels like a sports car compared to the bigger jet boats. the shallow draft of about 7" allows the pilot to take you right up to the edge of the shore in places. Have no fear...even as you look out the window and feel he is trying to take you down to the depths...this boat is built to float and back up you come!Awesome....and you're still dry enough to go out to eat afterwards. (Lots of great places right in Youngstown)
I would recommend everyone to do this! We went on oct 7 for the 4:00 trip. Words can't describe how much fun this experience was!! I smiled the entire ride. The guys were amazing and informative and made the trip fun too. Great everything !Seriously so scary and amazing I couldn't wait to write this. I am 53 years old and had the time of my life. Screaming and getting wet and laughing and learning about the Niagara Gorge !!
I was scared out of my mind! Once on the boat and the young woman talking about the boat, captain and history made it more relaxed. I was in the in closed part and felt very safe.I highly recommend you doing this when in Youngstown NY. Ty Jet Adventures.PS.Next time I will try the back outside and get soaked.:)
This was a first for me and for my husband. I planned this as a surprise for his birthday and we did not know what to expect. With an open mind and a full stomach (we just finished lunch), we dared to embark. The staff included the captain, guide, and assistant--each of which were very experienced and lots of fun. They even play appropriately named tunes while you experience the ride. When the water was calmer, the guide would share the local history with the guests and gave you a chance to see a view that you cannot appreciate from the land. There were enough calmer moments for me to take many amazing photos. The captain has over 17 years of experience and treated us to some wild 360 degree spins. I was able to hold onto my lunch and gain a new respect for the fearsome forces of the river. We trekked up and down the Niagara River Gorge where the rapids were fierce and the direction of the waves were flipping! Our experts referred to this level of water conditions as a "Class V" (Wikipedia defines the International Scale of River Difficulty for us: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Scale_of_River_Difficulty ). Next year the NJA is hoping to get approval and be fitted with a boat that can navigate a Class VI rapids right towards the giant waterfall--Niagara Falls. I will be booking this event. The cost is very affordable for such a unique and safe experience. For those that like getting soaked, there is outdoor seating. For myself, I opted for indoor seating with a roof so that I could enjoy the amazing views without getting a drop of water on me. The crew is knowledgeable and most definitely are expert sailors. You are in good hands as they emphasize safety and are certified by the U.S Coast Guard. One bit of warning: this event is not allowed for those under 40" of height or for those with physical or mental conditions in which such a ride would affect their well-being. Also, I'd like to add that you may want to ensure that you don't eat a large lunch just before you are scheduled to board. This is their official website: http://www.niagarajet.com/If you like to try new experiences--do it! You won't regret it!
This is an amazing thrill and so glad we didn't pass it up. So great to ride the rapids and stay dry. Captain Paul was excellent and gave us a great ride. It seemed like it was over all to fast. Would love to ride again and would recommend them to anyone. A MUST DO!!!!
I grew up in Youngstown and had a very deep respect of the Niagara river. I never ventured past the old Lewiston bridge in my boat when I was a teen, due to the sheer power of the current and rapids a bit further up river. This ride took me up past the power plants and into the whirlpool area where the current and rapids were treacherous. The crew was OUTSTANDING and gave our group the ride of a lifetime. I had not been back on the river in over 40 years and had forgotten much of the immense power of the river. They took us by the 'smugglers cove' where during prohibition, liquor was smuggled across from Canada to New York. I even remembered that the old barber of Youngstown, (Rube Davis) was caught and sent to Atlanta Federal Penitentiary and while there, cut Al Capones hair!! He cut my hair for many, many years in the 50's & 60's!!I am a doubting Thomas, so the next day I had to try the competition's boat ride also.. No comparison, you owe it to yourself to take the Niagara Jet Adventures boat ride.. Now having lived in Texas for the past 40 plus years, I have a great adventure from my 'home town' to brag about!!Joe Kulak
The sun came out for my first trip up the Niagara River on Saturday 13! After safety instruction and boarding we left the Youngstown Dock for the 6 mile trip up the river. The river is calm but fast flowing until up river of the Lewiston Dock. After that things pick up- we did a 180 spin first! Then as we passed the Hydro plants reached Devils Hole and the first class 3 rapids-,a fun experience only to be outdone by the trip through the next class 5 rapids. Did another spin in the Whirlpool beneath the cable car and then backed up to the Class 6 rapids! They are not yet allowed to go any further up river but hope to be able next season. Then back down river - fun through the rapids again. Well worth the money and the time!
Believe the reviews you read about this! Such a thrill, so fun, very easy ride for all ages!!The boats are brand new, super nice, and enclosed so you can really hit the rapids for a great ride and still stay dry! This is really great for all ages. The seats have shocks on them so even when the boat hits the rough rapids, it's still very comfortable. I have back issues and my husband gets seasick and we were both fine. The captains were really nice too! They provided a lot of great information about the area and we felt secure in their training to provide us a safe ride. They even stopped for a while in the Whirlpool to allow all of us to go on the wet deck and take pictures!Tips: You can take pictures during the ride, but you have to hold on sometimes. So bring a camera, but don't expect a lot of great shots. Just enjoy it. Attire: you can wear anything and any footwear that's comfortable. If you're on the wet deck, bring a change of clothes and a towel! Get in line early because it's a little bit of a free for all and first in line is first choice for your seat on the boat, although all seats are pretty good (although I'd choose the left side next time because our captain always turned left!). Go to the bathroom prior to the ride! No bathrooms on the boat. But it's only an hour long ride. There are bathrooms at the check-in building and some snacks to purchase.I would definitely do this again! And would recommend this to anyone, visiting from afar or local, to see the Niagara from a different view and for a great thrill.
