This distillery offers a short free tour and sampling session every 30 minutes. Following a short tour of the facility, you are given samples of their vodka, bourbon and bitters. The bourbon is especially tasty and impressive for such a small distillery. I have done the Kentucky bourbon trail and still greatly enjoyed this tour of this small-batch micro distillery. Definitely worth a stop while you're in Breck!
Met Matt from Breckenridge Distillery at Breckenridge Ski Resort who introduced us to Breckenridge bourbon. As a non bourbon drinker, I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the bourbon tasted. We visited their tasting center located near the visitors' center on Main St. It was a very enjoyable visit and we not only enjoyed tasting more of their products but took some home. A nice introduction to a local business. Next visit we plan to your the distillery. I wish them well.
If you like chemistry and bourbon, you will enjoy the tour of this small scale facility. They have tours every 30 minutes. You get to taste their products at the end, but that really isn't the best part. Seeing the equipment, hearing about the process, and watching the bottles, boxes, and packaging all being done by human hands is fascinating. The day I was there they were packaging the tiny airplane bottles for Frontier Airlines. Lots of personal human touches are required to complete the multi-step process. The amazing thing is all of this bottling "work" is completed by volunteers! I wouldn't take the kids, but if you do the tour is quick enough they will be okay. Go for the experience and enjoy the tastes on your way out! It would be a great break in the ski day or a lovely way to end it.
I've been to many large distilleries, so I enjoyed the small scale of the Breckenridge Distillery. Based on the quality of their products, you'd never know how small it is so it's definitely worth checking out if you like spirits. The tour guide was very well informed and gave us a great overview.
There are free tours every 30 minutes. We popped in after skiing on a week day and we were the only two there for our tour. There were 10 people for the tour after us. It was interesting to learn about the process and try the different liquors at the end of the tour. You can buy the liquor there but you can not buy it and ship it.
the place was packed when we arrived @ 7:00pm on a saturday night after a long day of skiing, we had to wait 20 minutes for a table, but we just headed to the bar area for a great selection of beers. (there was also a cooler of cold water)we tried the flight to decide which to order, they were all disticntly different, the food was typical pub fare, burgers & salads, nothing outstandingwaiter was very attentive
I am not normally a "roll into a place and take shots" kinda gal but this was really great concept to try their products. I think the vodka is amazing but am not a bourbon person so not sure about that. Staff was friendly and location is convenient also I was able to get a pretty cool shirt-so all around a good time. Just wish I could get the vodka here in Maryland.
This was my second visit to Breckenridge Distillery. The first was a few years ago when it opened up. It's great to see all the success they have had and their growth is awesome. I stopped in one afternoon and got my own personal tour and tasting. Enjoyed it tremendously and heard they are expanding with a restaurant and cigar bar in the future.
My husband and I visited this distillery two years ago, so came back with friends this year. Very interesting place and we got to see them hand bottling the bourbon, which we had only heard about last time. Lots of samples for everyone. Is very interesting to see how such a small business is doing so well. Make time to go if get the chance. Best of all its FREE!!
We had s great tour of their facility and got to sample excellent bourbon. I never knew how long the progress for making bourbon.
You can taste samples of vodka and bourbon at the tasting room on Main Street. The distillery offers tours as well as tastings. The guide mentioned the vodka many times during the tour, but the bourbon is an award-winner and one of my favorite Colorado spirits.
I love small batch bourbons and the Breckenridge Bourbon did not disappoint. We stopped by the tasting room off Main Street. It was a very nice surprise. It compared to Four Roses Single Barrel or Jefferson 10 Year old. Tried some of their other products, but the Bourbon stole my attention. Bought two bottles to bring back for friends.
We stopped by the tasting room in town to sample the goods. The vodka was quite a bit better then I would have guessed with great flavor and a nice smooth finish. The bourbon was amazing and rivals many from the Kentucky Region. I was thoroughly impressed. I made sure it was sold in the state I'm from and picked up a bottle when I got home. Still enjoying to this day. I was not able to make it to the actual distillery but would like to sometime. Great top for some great liquor.
We came here on a quiet day so they started the free tour for us and another couple early. Normally they go in the hour & half hour. The tastings were great and we ended up buying some drunken glasses, whiskey and chocolate sauce.
You have to stop and take the tour and have a taste at the Breckenridge Distillery if you're in Breckenridge, Colorado. The people are friendly and the hooch is amazing. They have a wide variety of products to sample and purchase and have come a long way in a few short years. Stop in and say hi. If you can't make it for the Distillery tour then check out their tasting room in downtown Breck.
