Did the 6 hour jungle trip in July. The first half or more of the trip was spent dodging, going under, over and through the downed trees. By the time one could actually kayak, we were too tired and wet to enjoy the scenery. I would recommend a shorter day trip or better yet just rent the kayaks/equipment/shuttle and do it on your own as that is essentially what this outfit does.Though this was a beginner trip, other than showing which way to hold the paddle, there were no directions, no map and questions were only answered with condescension and rudeness. Even with the Groupon it was not worth what we paid, especially having to deal with the attitude of the women who checked us in and out..

We arrived a little before 9am and quickly filled out the paperwork. Then we boarded the shuttle, and fifteen minutes later, we were at the river landing, preparing to launch our kayaks. The scenery was gorgeous, and we practically had the river to ourselves. Upon returning to the lodge (around 2pm), the staff helped us unload our gear and carry the kayaks. It was a fun day!

The Upper Park Tour for beginners was a great fun experience to try out kayaking ! The staff was humerous in getting us set up with our equipment, though not very thourough with the explanation. The river was beautiful, equipment appropriate and overall entertainment was great ! I would encourage newbies to this to be prepared for some narrow river spots where navigating under tree branches is inevitable. There could be more education as to what to look out for in the river by the staff, but overall the afternoon was great, and we will come back again.

The owners / employees are honestly a joke. It is not often that you have multiple interactions with multiple people at a business and they are ALL incredibly rude! It is really too bad because they have a beautiful creek and their business is fun - kayaking. How can you not be happy or at the very least PLESANT when working in the attractions / activity industry. The tip jar in the van was laughable! We loaded, unloaded, carried and guided ourselves through the ENTIRE experience. I am puzzled as to what the tip could be for? Especially after paying $89 a couple. On a positive note, once away from the jerks running this place - the experience was so fun!!

I was very disappointed. The employees made no effort to be courteous and were only interested in getting rid of us. The life jackets were wet, they didn't advise us to adjust the peddles in the kayak, and after they made certain we all had a kayak and paddle, they left us at the side of the road without telling us they were leaving! They never mentioned how narrow the river was and that it was filled with tree limbs, making parts of it very dangerous to travel. And worst of all, they expected us to carry the kayaks up a number of steep steps once we were done. I'm sure glad we bought the groupon, but even at that price, I will never go back!

The river was beautiful! I would go again, especially with the Amazon Local (half-off) pricing. We opted for the beginner's upper river trip as it was our first time. Overall that was a good choice because had we not been with some others who knew how to kayak we'd have been left totally on our own as to how things work, we were not given any technical instruction whatsoever. It's not rocket science but a 5 minute once-over would have been nice. We are familiar with canoes and paddling so ultimately it was not that difficult. My only other criticism was the woman on the phone and in person was not very friendly as other reviewers have mentioned but the driver who took us up-river was very nice. If you have never kayaked before the upper river will be a little challenging at first as the starting point requires you to navigate a good amount of fallen trees and over hanging branches, you will get stuck a few times. Mostly the current is not too strong and the river is typically quite shallow, so if you happen to fall out you'll be fine, just chilly, the water was 50-something degrees in July. After the 1st hour the river widens a bit and there are less trees and more small rapids which are not tough but are fun! Even if you are a pro, the scenery is really nice and it's a relaxing ride. I'd recommend this to anyone who can handle a kayak on their own, probably teens and up. There were some ladies in their 60's who did the 1.5hr and they loved it too!

We had a tons of fun and some frustrations as well. The lady at the front desk seemed more interested in her phone call when we first arrived. Even after getting off of the phone she wasn't all that friendly. The two guys who took us to the entrance to the river were wonderful and very friendly. The river itself was a challenge but fun. We didn't have a lot of experience so it was more of a challenge than we thought itb would be. We thought it would have been nice if someone would've helped carry the kayak from the river when we were done. I know it says on their website that you have to do it yourself but it would've still been nice. After all we were paying $90! A suggestion to maybe put up a warning sign for the boat dock at the half way point. By the time we saw the sign it was too late. The biggest reason we rated this a three or average was the attitude of the woman. But hey we got two complimentary drinks!

No problems scheduling, pickup was right on time, friendly employees that were happy to answer questions. The float through the lower Kinnickinnic River Canyon was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! We caught an 18" Brown Trout we had for dinner that night. Thank you Paige, we had a blast and will be back. We would recommend this trip to beginners as well as experienced kayakers looking for new waters.

We found this kayak day trip on Groupon. Being from Minneapolis, we weren't well-versed with Wisconsin kayak trips When we called to make the reservation, the owner was dismissive and not friendly. We are experienced kayakers and opted for the long trip, despite her trying to talk us out of it. She just kept saying it wasn't for beginners, even though we told her we were experienced. We arrived on the day and were very excited. It was a beautiful fall day! There was about 6 different groups of 2-3 people and we all had a nice time meeting each other. When the owner arrived, she didn't seem excited to see us, didn't give the group instructions, no engagement whatsoever. She just handed us clipboards and told us to read and sign. She seemed annoyed with questions. Later she told us she was only working that day because "one of her college kids" needed the day off. One pair of the people kayaking that day got off the river at the wrong spot as she didn't fully explain it to the group on departure. She gave no information about where to put in or take out unless you specifically asked prior to leaving but she seemed hurried in doing so. Rudely informed us that if we didn't arrive at the time we said we would, we'd have to find our own way back. On the ride back after fininshing our trip, she continued to seem annoyed. One of the other kayakers tried to make conversation with her, asking how the Groupon was going for her. Her response was: "well, it's brought a different demographic than I'm used to", as though regular people were a frustration for her business. Everyone in the van was quiet after that as pretty much all of us were there on the Groupon. Will not use her business again. If a different owner were to buy it, would definitely use. That said, the river and the day was beautiful and it was a fun time outside our interactions with her.

My husband, sister, a nephew and i took their three hour kayak trip down the beautiful Kinnickinnic River in River Falls, Wi. From start to finish we had a great time! Fish jumping, ducks and bald eagles were just some of the sites we saw. The river is super clean and there are just enough obstacles -a few rapids, fallen logs and things for these novices to navigate that it made it fun and relaxing in other sections of the river where it was calm. I thought the owner, Paige was knowledgeable and very friendly. We will take this trip again!

Called Kinni Creek outfitters to inquire about kayak rental. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and condescending. You would think that someone who owns her own business would like to be able to answer a few simple questions before booking a rental. Instead she was impatient and snotty. I will never rent from here and will steer people to other friendlier companies.
