Note for Trip Advisor: this is incorrectly classified as an attraction whereas Shoeless Joe's is a restaurant and sports bar.On travel failures of epic proportions my colleagues and I were spending a second night in Chicago as we had missed our connections. By the time we got to our hotel in Rosemont Shoeless Joe's was the only real food option still open after 11 PM and while it is just typical bar food it was a welcome find and good for late night dining or for the myriad of travelers staying overnight due to delays at O'Hare airport. As my colleagues and I were just looking for any food options near our hotel Shoeless Joe's got the nod but given the myriad of options available for excellent food in Chicago I cannot see Shoeless Joe's offering any significant competition save for their late night options. Location is well outside the center of the city and had it not been for our missed connection I doubt we would have even gone to Shoeless Joe's. Still, with expectations in check we entered and found a clean restaurant with ample seating and numerous TVs. Shoeless Joe's is unapologetically a sports bar that also serves food and it meets that niche well.Upon being seated we were left to our devices and looked at the food and drink options. Initially we thought there were only burgers available but upon visiting our table the waitress gave us the full menu versus just the late night dining one and Shoeless Joe's offered a reasonable selection of sandwiches and burgers along with standard pub appetizers. There were some other options like a fish, steak or pasta but for what it is Shoeless Joe's best food foot forward is burgers as I found my turkey club sandwich rather plain and lacking the right amount of mayonnaise. I also thought the pasta looked a little plain and cheeseburger looked like a pre-made patty versus fresh beef but then again we were having dinner at midnight. Sides were fine and I must say the French fries were hot and crispy and a welcome late night treat. Where Shoeless Joe's really shines is the beer and they have a good selection on tap as well as bottles. Given our travel misfortunes I opted for an ale and found it quite nice whereas others in my party tried lighter beers. One person opted for the red wine in spite of my warning that this was a place known for beer so it wasn't a surprise to me when he found the red wine was lacking nor do I blame Shoeless Joe's for this as with their limited wine selection they clearly specialize in and sell a lot of beer.Service was acceptable and in terms of price everything was reasonable; for four people with drinks cost came to around 100 USD including tip. Shoeless Joe's also has the benefit of being open until 4 AM which was the selling point for us going there. Still, the overall experience was average and nothing that I would go out of the way to return given all the other excellent dining options in Chicago. Still, for average pub food, a good selection of beers and reasonable prices Shoeless Joe's packs them in I imagine and will continue to do so.
I LOVED this bar! The waitresses and bartenders were so awesome! The beer selection was great, and they had a lot of craft beer on tap. The food is really what sold me. One of the dishes I got was the Chicken Joe-Seppie, and I could not stop raving about it. It was probably the best thing I had while visiting in Chicago.
Shoeless Joe's is a busy sports bar with lots of TV's and friendly efficient servers. There was an impressive beer list, many of them on draft. Our meals were good pub food, with better than average fish and chips. It was a pretty lively place on a Wednesday night and most likely downright raucous on weekends.
