We have spent a lot of time in this area over the last few years and are still surprised by the flora and fauna, we have seen tortoises, numerous snakes, wonderful large emerald green Baltic lizards, little geckos, scorpions, buzzards and many other birds, in late May the fireflies in the olive groves, dragon flies and hummingbird moths, so many creatures and unusual wild flowers and plants, if you like nature you wouldn't have to walk very far or sit still for long before being rewarded by seeing something interesting or beautiful! The views of Corfu from the Pantokrator mountain road are outstanding.

It is a little bit difficult to drive to the top of the mountain because the road is quite narrow and curly (as almost all the roads in Corfu). Going back is even more interesting. The view in a clear sunny day is breathtaking. You can see almost the entire island. There is a monastery right on top of the mountain and we had the pleasure to meet the only monk over there - a Romanian one. You can have a snack or a coffee at the restaurant nearby (the manager was a Romanian too). There are some interesting stories about the region and you will be impressed to find out something about the life of the monks from there (especially during wintertime). If you have the opportunity - just go for it!

The mountain has so many sides to it with different views from every angle. There are a number of hairpin turns so take it slow!

The drive up is interesting to the charming village of Strinilas - stop for a coffee or a meal, a delightful place. Then it can be a bit scary as the mountain is bare with big drops but the road is OK so it is worth it. Once at the top there are magnificent views of most of Corfu, parts of the Greek Mainland and Albania. The monastery is beautiful and there is a cafe. A really fantastic place but do go on a clear day, they say you can even see Italy!

The view from the top is amazing! On the clear day, you can see Italy!!! And the whole island is at your palm!!! The monastery there is beautiful, only thing that ruins the impression is that tv/radio tower built right in front of the church.

My goodness me, what views from the top and also going down both sides too BUT if you do not like heights and driving along the very edge of god knows how much of a drop don't do it as it will spoil it for you but it really is magnificent

This is well worth visiting - highest point in Corfu. The views are just fabulous. You can see the whole of Corfu as well as parts of the Greek mainland and Albania. Very good picture opportunities. There are also a family of cats living in the gift shop in the church at the top and they're so cute :) There is a café at the top if you need refreshments. Also look out for the owls on the rocks. Seriously. We saw 2 owls hopping around at the top in broad daylight. Fantastic.

I loved the winding twisting road up to mount panyokrator. Once at the top, where parking is very awkward, you can enjoy the scenery, walk around the courtyard area and stop for a snack or refreshment.

This is a great viewing spot. We arrived in the rain and could see only a few miles, but when it cleared the summer haze was gone. You can see over to Italy! But what a shame about the telecoms masts.Dont come expecting a great restaurant either!

I had read several reviews before going and had decided that it was something we would definitely do. We were not disappointed. The views were absolutely wonderful! As many of the reviews have said, getting there can be a bit of a challenge due to the hairpin roads and also steepness, etc...but we did it. As others did say finding it, even with a sat nav can be challenging, hence I made a note of how we got there...hope it helps. -- In sat nav, put in the village of Spartilas as the place you want to go...although it is not there, it is north from it. But this is a start-- After the town of Spartillas ends, continue straight on that road and then eventually take a right turn when you see a signboard that says Lafki. -- You will then pass a small village called Strinllas-- As soon as the village of Strinllas ends, you will need to take a right turn...there will be a sign that says Pantokrator cafe bar. Follow those signs and you will make it to the top.Views are amazing and the coffee is slightly pricey, but worth have a cuppa while up there.

Walked up from Kassiopi (report in the forums - http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g676294-i12917-k7826439-A_hike_up_Mount_Pantokrator_from_Kassiopi_report-Kassiopi_Corfu_Ionian_Islands.html). A tough but rewarding walk up for some excellent views over Corfu.

It takes at least 30 minutes to drive up there but it worth every second!Make sure to get there before 6 pm, because they close the monastery around 7 and you can get nice views from it's garden.

Great place to look out over Corfu and across to Albania. The drive up is hairpin bends all the way, but it is worth the journey. The little Monastery is charming. The only thing to spoil the location is the communication mast built right outside the monastery, surely it could have been a little way away

Hairy drive up to the top of Corfu's highest mountain. Once there the views are outstanding. At the top you will find a monastery, cafe and a gift shop selling the usual tourist trap items. Eagles soar overhead. You can see almost all of the island. Small carpark.
