We were greeted by Graham with some lovely samplings of red. Graham had to head out for his turn on the tractor but his very capable son was happy to fill us in on all the wines and history. We bought some wine which we proceeded to drink on the rest of our journey down teh Great Ocean Road. A great little place to visit to sample some solid red wines.
We stopped by this winery on our weekend getaway to daylesford, upon arrival you walk into the winery being greeted and offered tastings which was wonderfull but thats were it stops, we were more after the full winery experience were you could taste wines, sit down and then walk around the winery and see the production, have some food, bit dissapointed fir what we were expecting.
We dropped by this winery on the way back to Melbourne, hoping to get a bottle of the Lakehouse's wine that we enjoyed 2 nights before. But this was not to be - you can only get them at the restaurant! We came away with a great Chardonnay nevertheless.
We have been fans of Passing Clouds wines for some years so it was good to see their new context and try some of the new releases. The reds are great - we liked the Cabernet and the Macedon Ranges Syrah. The winery is just off the main Daylesford-Trentham road - and well sign posted. The open fire was welcoming and the dog and kitten very welcoming. We look forward to watching the kitten grow!
The reds were lovely. The Bendigo Shiraz was very tasty and enjoyable to drink. We tried a number of reds but our favourite was the Cab Sav. A must place to visit.
The closest winery to Daylesford - just a 7 minute drive and opportunity to experience a working cellar door. WinemakerGraeme Leith on the tractor when we arrived, his son Cam helpful on the counter - respectfully listening to our thoughts. An authentic experience well worth the visit.
This was our first visit having driven past many times. We are glad we stopped; the wines were excellent and it was great to talk to Graeme about what we were tasting. The dog was also friendly.
visited the vineyard and the family. Enjoyed the discussion, the wines were great and the openness charming, recommend to anyone who enjoys their wine. It was a favourite of mine and after visiting rose in estimation
Fantastic experience, we had an interesting tasting, learnt a lot about this families history. It was great to be served and talked to at the cellar door by the family. We met "Graeme" and his 2 sons and heard all about there journey, complemented as we spoke by beautiful wines. The Graeme's Blend, and the Macedon Pinot Noir were our picks!
We stopped off at the winery while visiting the local area and on the suggestion of our B+B hosts. Like the Hunter Valley many years ago, the winemaker was serving at the cellar door and it was nice to have the wine info coming straight from the horse's mouth so to speak. The reds were great and we bought a couple away with us. Worthy of a visit.
Great wine and an entertaining and interesting cellar door service. Took away a lovely reserve Shiraz but wish I'd bought a dozen. Thanks Graeme!
lovely reds wines at a good price. Made to feel very welcome even the dog was happy to see us! Also very good service.
The wine was very nice and staff very helpful and informed.
Attending my Brothers 60th Birthday in Bendigo, l was made aware by my sister that his favourite wine comes from this boutique winery at Musk. After checking the website ( which was excellent) l rang and asked if the vintage was available. Sadly, it was not and we discussed other options. I then asked is it possible to purchase winery glasses, which were available.Upon arrival in Victoria, we drove to the winery, and were greeted like family. The dog met us with his toys, thus making the atmosphere personal, joyful and if l may use the phrase homely.Inside we met the owners and talked about the wine. Graeme was absolutely helpful and understanding, and actually provided us with a bottle from his private collection as a gift for my brother.Their wine is excellent, their attitude exceptional and their passion unassuming. An excellent stop that is not far out of the way, and well worth the visit.Cheers
The new cellar door makes this great wine more accessible which is a great bonus.
