Tea on the Veranda on Wednesdays - it's great! Tour the museum for only $1 extra. A great way to revisit the history of Bowmanville and area and have a wonderful lunch!!

We ate on the back patio, a group of three. It was coolo in the shade and we had a nice, light lunch. The atmosphere definitely had a Victorian feel to it. There was a woman playing the piano inside that we heard throughout our meal, it added a nice touch. The sandwiches were very good, perfect on the hottest day of the summer so far, and the scones were divine, the best I've had actually, served with fresh strawberry jam and whipped cream. Dessert was some kind of chocolate square and it was very good too. It would be nice to have more options to drink (tea, coffee, apple or orange juice and water was their limit). But other than that it was a perfect lunch. It was very busy but we didn't have to wait for our food and we could have been out within an hour if we had been in a hurry. I advise anyone who wants to go to make a reservation though, if they are busy you may not be able to get a table. I reserved our table and was glad because I saw two groups turned away because they were full.
