I have seen several plays at this venue over the last few summers and highly recommend it. Cat on a hot tin roof with Sam Rockwell and The Visit with Chita Rivera come to mind. The theatre is attractive, has a small snack bar at the entrance and offers ample parking all around the campus. A very personable policeman ensures you are able to cross the busy road in front of the theatre!

On a recent visit to picturesque Williamstown, I attended the 2014 edition of the Williamstown Theatre Festival. I had the pleasure of seeing June Moon, a comedic play about the Tin Pan Alley era (this play originally premiered on Broadway in 1929). June Moon is essentially a hybrid of a musical and a comedy; while songs do not dominate the production, they do play a large role. The acting, as expected, was excellent. I was particularly impressed with Holly Fain, who Gossip Girl fans would recognize for her role as the manipulative Maureen van der Bilt (Fain also appeared in a Broadway revival of Harvey). She gave a stellar performance as the flirtatious and flamboyant Eileen, captivating both the gullible Fred Stevens (in the play) and the audience. Fain's subtle hand gestures, expressions, and voice inflections proved that she had perfectly captured the spirit of her character, whose seductive disposition belies her truculent nature. Christopher Fitzgerald also excelled, providing comic relief through his portrayal of the eccentric songwriter Benny Fox. This satirical yet resonant play was made even more enjoyable by the setting, as the Williamstown Theatre is a world-class facility in a beautiful town. Make no mistake: this is Broadway-caliber theatre. If you visit the Berkshires in the summer, I highly recommend that you include the Williamstown Theatre Festival in your itinerary.

A modern theatre will productions that make you laugh, cry, and feel great to be alive. The staging is super good as are the sets. There is nothing lacking they even have the best cast available.

We were in Williamstown for 4 nights and saw the 2 plays that they were showing. Very professional. There are 2 stages and we were at both. There's pretty much not a bad seat in the house. There's parking right there if you get there early enough. If not, there's additional parking across the street. It was great.

We just attended a performance by the PigPen Theatre Co. at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. If this performance is indicative of their normal shows, you should attend one of next summers' productions at this outstanding regional theatre. Go early and talk with some of the interns for more information on their experiences and the history of this 60+ year old festival.

I attended three shows this summer in my hometown of Williamstown. Not a stranger to this venue by any means, I am pleased every year when they offer great shows, world known actors, and many up and coming stars. It is amazing to see the staging with incredible costumes, sets that are unbelievable, great acoustics, and all for a minimal fee. Small and intimate all the theaters offer nothing but great seating. Many familiar faces on stage year after year is comforting, knowing they love the community, the venue, and the opportunity to act and relax in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts.

We enjoyed the show very much. We haven't been to this theater in many years and were pleasantly surprised. It was as good as being at a Broadway show. The entire cast was excellent and the singing and acting was first class.

This is a theatre that has been offering sold-out performances with established stars and new talent for many years. Not a bad seat in the house.

Great venue, very professional productions, first class actors. As good as it gets off Broadway. Must get tickets in advance but worth the effort. Check on line.

The PigPen Theater is an example of the Williamstown Theater Fesitival's effort to expand the world of theater. 7 guys recently graduated from Carnegie Mellon's theater program provided a thoroughly entertaining evening. ...Neat venue in a quaint college town in NW Mass. The theater, however, is anything but quaint. This show ran 2 months "off broadway". When in the northern Berkshires don't miss

My wife and I recently traveled to Williamstown to see a performance of "The Visit" at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. There isn't a bad seat in the house at the theater. I am not a theater critic, but trust me, from the cast, to the set and the music, it was wonderful. The parking garage made for easy entry and stress free departure. Do yourself a favor and take in a performance at the Theatre Festival.

A magnificent production of Sam Shepard's "Fool for Love." Nina Arianda and Sam Elliott were perfect in their roles.

Enjoyed Sam Shepard's play A Fool For Love starring Sam Rockwell. Always look forward to their productions.

Free and outdoors in relaxed, family atmosphere. Loved Robin Hood. Had an outdoor picnic of pizza and beer while watching a funny, well done production. Lovely evening!

It was the first time I traveled to the Williamstown Theater Festival and am ashamed to say that I was not aware of the quality of the topnotch actors who play there. The play was "Living on Love,"w/ Renee Fleming in her first acting role. The play was very lightweight, frivolous even, but acted SO well and staged and performed SO perfectly that the evening was completely fun and enjoyable. If you are in the area, make a point to fit this into your schedule.
