Don't pass this guy up. He can be found next to the Hope Historical Museum. We had a blast and it's not easy. Gold Panning Peck is a completely loveable character, real as the gold in his claim. We grabbed the $60 bucket and had a blast as he showed us how to pan in the proper way. He remained engaged and worked with us to master the technique. When done we walked away with a fun little bit of gold in a vial. It was the best part of our day in Hope Alaska.

Great fun and he is a character!! We learned a lot about the hard work of gold panning as well. And got to take our little chips home with us. A nice souvenir!

My son has gold fever ;) so we tried several gold panning places while on vacation and while yes, this is set up for tourist, my kids found more gold here than in the other panning areas we tried. Peck is a great guy and we has lots of fun. Hope is a cute town to visit.

We were looking for something interesting to do in Hope during a spontaneous road trip. We had been interested in learning how to pan for gold and this was so much fun! We'll never forget Gold Rush Peck and his crazy nature. Definitely something fun to do for the kids. Everyone needs to run into Gold Rush Peck. We really struck it rich finding Gold Rush Peck!

We had a great afternoon panning for gold with Mr. Peck. I have done quite a bit of gold panning over the years and thought I was pretty good at it. Mr. Peck taught us some techniques that really improved my panning.He was very patient with our boys and had them panning in no time. They all found gold in their pans.Mr. Peck kept us entertained with his great stories and the history of Hope.After spending time with Mr. Peck we visited the Hope Historical Museum. It is wonderful museum and a great way to learn the history of Hope.
