We visited the museum as part of a tour group. The displays on the inside of the building were a bit overwhelming at first. The friendly and informative volunteer tour guides from the museum helped us understand the breadth of activity that goes into putting on a Mardi Gras celebration. The costumes worn by past royalty were stunning, and filled the warehouse-size room's walls and a large portion of the floor. Outside, we got to take a peek at floats that were being readied for the upcoming celebration early next year.

I only had 2 days in Bossier City and I was so looking forward to seeing this museum. I checked the hours ahead of time and they were closed when it said they were going to be opened. I called and got a recording and left a message to find out more information and no one returned my call. From what I could see at the street, there are floats, many covered with cloths, but it looked like it would have been an excellent museum. I was soooo disappointed. On my ride back to the airport, I saw it was open as I passed by and it was supposed to be closed at that time. Was very unhappy I missed this museum. Be sure to talk to a human being if you can so you won't be disappointed like I was.

I am a member of the Krewe of Gemini in Bossier City, Louisiana. I am not partial to this museum because I belong to the Krewe that started it but because it is definitely the best place to see and experience Mardi Gras in Northwest Louisiana. Come join us for our parade, bal, float loading, the best in NW Louisiana.

What a Nice place and nice people, really enjoyed it. Love how they have displayed all the costumes and beads, they have really built a nice place to show the history of Mardi Gras, you can also see all the floats that they use.

If you want to go back in time to the start of Mardi Gras in the Ark-La-Tex the Mardi Gras Museum is a great place to start. The largest collection of Mardi Gras costumes and memorabilia in all of North Louisiana. A must for every tourist.

It is amazing to me to see all of the time, energy, design, talent and love that goes into each facet of Mardi Gras. The preservation of items now should inspire all who take the time to visit this museum , as well as, others around the state or states.

Mardi Gras Museum - Krew of Gemini, Bossier City, Louisiana.Very interesting place. Opened just a couple of years ago. It keeps all the regalia of previous year’s carnivals. Lots of beautiful costumes. The attendant was very clear in his explanations of the history of the Krew of Gemini (started 1989) and their charity work during the year. Also a very good recommendation to go to Stubbs Hardware store to get the King Cake and other LA souvenirs. All the help very much appreciated since it was our first visit to the city. All the very best for the parade on Saturday
