Attend quite often and their house band is top notch country!!!!! Great atmosphere, great people, great food, and awesome country music.
We went there a while ago to see the great Ralph Stanley and was pleased to hear many other great Bluegrass Bands and meet some nice people. Really enjoyed the whole night,
This place we would LTR without a doubt. We left stuffed, and plenty of left overs, and went over to relax and let the children play at the park. We appreciate the hospitality we were shown.
This place is just fun. We've been twice while my husband was in Fairmont for business. Great Saturday night outing. Some bands and singers are better than others, but that's part of the fun. Dance floor for those that want it. It looks like the seats and stage curtains were from a movie theater. Kind of majestic. Tables in the back. Admission $6. Home cooked meal $7. Pie for $3. Snacks available. Drawing for door prizes and raffles also. No smoking and no alcohol. Families encouraged.
I love to go to this place whenever I go to W.V. The music always takes me back to when I was much younger with a nice variety of classic country oldies to the rock & roll oldies. The bands are so entertaining. Everyone is friendly, the seats are comfortable, bathrooms are clean and the admission price is reasonable. This is just a very nice way to spend a week-end evening in a place where they don't serve alcohol. They serve some really good fod and that too is reasonably priced.I recommend this place very highly. If you love good old country music, then head on down to Sagebrush Roundup!!
Every weekend there is a live show at this self proclaimed "West Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame". When we attended, they had a fantastic bluegrass band and a pretty good secondary band. The point here is to preserve live, local country music and make it accessible for everybody. It is! The venue is a very large purpose built structure with a cute stage, almost like the Grand Old Opry, or perhaps the Carter Family Fold. There is ample room for dancing/clogging, and some folks did. There is home cooked food available, which tasted quite good . There is no booze. The entry fee was reasonable: $ 10 per person. They only charged $ 6 that night, because one of the bands had canceled. Most of the audience was locals, older people, some younger, some kids. Just like in the old days. There was a raffle, there was twangin', sangin' and a good time was had by all.Careful on your way out to the venue. Windy country road, lots of deer, and we even saw a coon grubbin' at the side of the road.Must do, if you are in the area on the weekend. It doesn't get any more real!
