This is bare bones camping with too many restrictions and the water is NEVER warm in the lake apparently because it is too deep to warm up. Same scenery you can see everywhere without mountain views. Would not try to stay here again
Said to be the deepest lake in Montana, Tally Lake is set in a long and narrow valley with cliffs and tree-covered mountainsides on either edge. The lake is fed from water from upstream and it's dark tannin makes it a warm place to swim in the summer. Frequented by both locals and tourists alike, Tally Lake is popular with recreational boating of one variety or another. The lake's large size and clear water, along with its close proximity to the Flathead Valley, make it a popular place for boating and waterskiing. Additionally, a large campground and day use area at the head of the lake is a popular place for camping, picnicking and parties. There are several hiking trails in the area. Tally Lake is administered by the Flathead National Forest Service though a local host. Tally Lake is home to a fair number of small cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, brook trout and whitefish.
