This was one of three breweries that we visited during our modified beverage trail. I enjoyed this beer the most. There were four options available to taste, a nice bartender, and a decent size store. I will be looking for this beer on the shelf in the future.

I really enjoyed the beer although the Porter wasn't for sale in bottles due to some archaic NY State law. Not much atmosphere but who cares? It's all about the beer here.

Finally stopped in here a few days ago after waiting for them to re-open after the winter. The brewery is now under new management and they've gone back to the original recipes of their beer from the 90s. They've also changds the logo and labels of the beer and are in the process of building a new brewery in Oneonta (this address will stay open as a tasting room). Unfortunately, their porter wasn't available, but I got to try the Old Slugger, Nine Men Ale, and Back Yard IPA as well as a Davidson Bros Scotch ale. Their beers are quite good and better than I remember (which harkens back to the recipe change). The staff were very friendly and the tasting was only $3, which is great. I didn't do the tour as I didn't have time and have been on plenty of brewery tours). This is a small, but nice brewery and they're definitely changing things for the better. I would recommend stopping in and trying their brews!

We really enjoyed this place. Good food, great friendly service. It's very small, although we heard there is a back room with more tables, but we were glad we went early for supper. We would definitely go back.

Part of the Cooperstown Beverage Trail.Like most small breweries you are not going to get the ritz and glamor, but the service was good and the rep that day was kind and not pushy!

The atmosphere was a little disappointing. We were suppose to taste 6 beers but they ran out of the 6th beer. It happens I guess?

On 10/12/2013 we were doing the Cooperstown Beverage Trail. The Cooperstown Brewing Company was out second stop. We arrived around 11:45 AM. and the doors were open and you could hear things banging in the back. No one was around. There was a bell that said Ring for Service, which we did twice. We waited approx 15 minutes for someone to show up so we could taste there beers. We finially left disapointed. This also meant that we would not recieve out gift for doing all 6 places on the trail because no one was there to stamp our booklets. Very disapointed. I gave them a poor rating for their attendance , which was absent. I cant say what there product tasted like because we did not get to sample it.

As craft beers go, Cooperstown Brewing Co. has some good ones. Their IPA and Special Ale are among the best I've tasted from a brewery their size. they're part of the Cooperstown Beverage Trail, which includes wineries, breweries and cider mills in the vicinity of Cooperstown. Worth the trip.

The brewery is definitely where you wouldn't expect to find a brewery, and driving through a residential area, you wonder if you are in the right place. The building also doesn't look like it would hold a brewery, but it's not like it has to be fancy! You walk in and you can see the brewery side with the tanks. They vary the beers they have to taste depending when you were there. You can taste 1 or 2 for free or you can do all 4 that they had when we were there for $2, so it certainly won't break the bank! We sampled all 4, and they were definitely good size pours. They were out of some of their other stock at the time we were there. But we enjoyed trying them all, it was worth the stop to try some different brews. Especially because I really am not a fan of IPAs, but this one I could drink easily. I would have liked to try some of their others however, as a couple of them were their signature ones. Maybe next time!

A stop on the Cooperstown Beer/Wine trail. Worth the stop, beer is good and the staff welcoming. A tour is not needed and you can view the brewing room from the tasting area.

No distribution channels make this a hard beer to find outside the Cooperstown-Oneonta area.Brewery looks like it was once a barn but don't judge the book by it's cover. The beer is generally first-rate: the Back Yard India Pale Ale and the Old Slugger Pale Ale are delicious after a day in the summer sun up there and the Benchwarmer Porter is enjoyable with a hearty steak or a strong salmon.Recently bought out by another brewing company, the brewing methods are not supposed to change. I hope not.

The ambiance is lacking but this place is a find! There are 6 or 7 beers to try and there is sure to be one that you will like. We liked 3 enough to take them home. The samples are very generous and the staff is enthusiastic if not necessarily experts.

I was at the brewery a few years ago. I wish it were closer to Cooperstown (approx. 8 miles ) because of the neat moments. I had some beer glasses shipped home. My favorite is the one with the baseball etched into the bottom of the glass. Oh by the way, the Nine Man Ale and Old Slugger Pale Ale are good beers.

You're going here for the beer! It is a very small operation, but the folks are nice and the beer is GOOD!

We stopped by on a sunny Saturday off season and were the only ones in the tasting room at the time. Chelsea was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and the area. I really enjoyed the Old Slugger and their Porter came home with us in a 6 pack. Hops and Barely are the brewery cats and they were sweetly tolerant of my delighted attention. Also - it's small and unisex - but the bathroom off the tasting room is really cool, it's decorated with bottles from all over the region.
