My teenager wanted to advance his skills so we put him in ride lessons. His instructor Miles was fantastic! Definitely a great experience!
Our children attended the ski school years ago, now our grand children recently attended. They had a great time and learned so much. Our 5 year old was able to go down blue runs on the third day!
This program was great. We pre-registered so they were ready for the kids when we got there. The small hill at the Mountain House location was perfect for first timers, and the carpet lifts made it easy to get the kids up the mountain. The instruction was great. After the class I took my 7 and 9 year old up the mountain and they ran down it with no fear and no falls.
We have been going to Keystone for several years. The main reason we return to Keystone is the fantastic Ski & Ride School at Keystone. The instructors are great, the instruction is fantastic. We have 4 children with vastly different personalities and their instructors really know how to interest and motivate them. Jim Curcio could be the best instructor in Colorado. He teaches my twin boys skiing and they've been on blacks and bowls since their second year. Graham Schoeneman and Carly Boudah teach snowboarding to my other kids and not only do my kids learn/improve impressively each year - they have a great time. Yes, ski school is expensive (less so at Keystone than most resorts in CO). But absolutely worth it; more important than fancy lodging or the latest/coolest gear. Seeing your kids shoot past you in proficiency is priceless. It helps that Keystone is not as crowded as nearby Breckenridge or as expensive as nearby Vail. It's also nice that Keystone has some of the nicest, longest runs in the US and a great distribution of greens/blues/blacks. River Run Village is car free and perfect for letting kids explore on their own. But in the end, it's all about the instructors and the ski school - and Keystone cannot be beat.
