The cemetery dates back to the first settler in this area and continues onto into today. Many gravestones show times of hardship and disease. Well maintained with the Veterans area and a Traditional Hebrew area as well. If your into gravestones and tracing history this is worth a trip out Business 34 East.

How does a person review a cemetery? Every town has one someplace. Most are forgotten, or were bypassed when a new highway was built. Even in the driest parts of the country, the cemetery usually stands out like an oasis in the town. There is wildlife, and mature, beautiful trees here. My mind sees 1874 when the trees were probably saplings planted for the first occupants of the cemetery. Greeley is dry. The cemetery has a water source to keep things green. The roads are well maintained. Everything is orderly and well kept.Always take the marked business loop into towns when traveling. Most cemeteries are on the old alignment of the current highway. Stop a moment not for the dead, but for the living plants and wildlife cemeteries attract. If you have visited an area's museum; walk the headstones in the older section of the cemetery. It can be interesting to find the headstones of area pioneers, and read the headstones.
