Excellent accomodations , Staff go out of their way to assist you! Restaurants are also outstanding.

I wouldn't have minded a $5 blackjack table but besides that, this casino has everything you need. Will be back.

The Ameristar Casino is very nice. From the beautiful scenic drive from Denver, to the mountain motif decor all around the inside of the Casino, to the smoke free atmosphere, to the abundant slot machines, to the free coffee and soft drinks, and the diversity of dining options, this is the place to come for a fun little gambling getaway!

The Ameristar Casino was once a Hyatt property and the quality of construction is without compare in the area. The hotel was added on later and is a great property with conference rooms for parties and company events, a full service spa, a rooftop pool and hot tub. The rooms are excellent as well. The gaming is well diversified with something for everyone. The poker room has a bad beat jackpot that rivals any you'll find in any other casino, and the new layout is great. The dealers are very friendly, as are just about all staff you encounter. I would highly recommend.

I enjoy Ameristar every time I go. I like the fact that they are kid/family friendly...meaning that my son can actually get through the doors and to the restaurants and hotel. We have actually won quite a bit of $$$ which is awesome. If you go, make sure you register for a "players card" to get extra goodies and accumulate points and money back.

I have played slots at Ameristar many times and have never won more than $30. In fact I have never witnessed any one win big like in other casinos. The other problem I have is that I like to play the max and win very little or nothing and the person next to me on the same machine is only playing the minimum and win, only a little but at least they win. In fact they keep winning while I keep losing. It is also hard to find a waitress for a drink and if you do she never comes back. You are better off at the Isle, Lodge and Mardi Gras.

Really enjoyed my visit. Great staff, great layout, great upkeep, great poker room; overall a Great Casino. I'll be back next time I'm in Denver

This casino has fun slots, poker tables and craps. I lost my winning ticket ($250), but their security staff immediately gave me my winnings and were very helpful.

Recently spent a couple of days at this hotel. I made my choice by reading many of the reviews here and pretty much bypassed the extremely negative ones.. I know some have expectations that may be too high for a hotel up on a mountain in the middle of winter (no pun intended!)The drive up was slow and snowy, but beautiful scenery; breathtaking! It is amazing to just be driving in what looks like the wilderness on a mountain, then all of a sudden there is a town with high rise hotels, casinos, restaurants. Just surreal!We arrived around noon, asked for a room with a view and we were given a room on the top floor, at the end, and it was spectacular! The room was huge, beds comfortable, and couldn't ask for more. It was below zero the days we were there, so we pretty much stayed at the Ameristar for food, gambling, exploring.. had all we needed. The staff, no matter who or where they were, were nice and helpful if you needed anything. It was a very unhurried atmosphere, great for unwinding. And while the slots were not the best payout, the tables were a blast! Played a lot of craps and blackjack and the tables stayed full, the dealers fun, and we all left with wins. I want to go back up in the summer and stay a day or so as there are many other places nearby to explore on this area if the mountain but would need a bit warmer of a day to do this.

My favorite thing about this casino--it's all smoke free! They provided patios. This is the first time I actually could have stayed for a while and not reeked of smoke afterwards. Didn't win big, but had a fun time. Beautiful decor.

This is a gorgeous hotel in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains. The town itself is quaint and there are lots of gaming activities to choose from. Just be advise if you are traveling with kids that this is the hotel to stay at! They have an awesome pool and hot tubs on the top floor. Only two casinos in Black Hawk will even allow kids to walk in the front door. The rooms are very modern and spacious. Love it here!

Loved the clean modern casino. Loved the free drinks and free soda dispensing machines. Was disappointed that the lowest Black Jack tables were $10 minimum.

Staff is friendly. Beautiful decor. Starbuck's on the main floor. Hotel rooms are are great, large, clean & plush, with beautiful views. Buffet is food is excellent.

Colorado Rules - Max bet or raise is $100 in 1-2NL and 2-5NL. There are no larger NL games because of the above rule. 30-60 Limit and 50-100 Limit are also run.

If you couldn't tell by comparing it to its neighbors, Ameristar is the best place in black hawk. Everyone is so friendly!
