Fascinating piece of history. Bluff was settled by some courageous pioneers and you can explore the history of this interesting little town at this fort.

A nice reproduction of the old original Mormon settlement. Well done, and a nice place to stop and visit.

Worth a stop to learn about the early settlers and the hardships they went through. Very friendly helpful volunteers manning the gift shop. Some interesting displays outside.

An authentic old fort right out of the wild west. Sits right along the road in Bluff. Kids would especially enjoy. Other historic things to see in the area. Worth a stop if you have time.

We stopped at Bluff Fort Historic Site to learn about this area's fascinating Mormon pioneers. Their efforts to colonize the area east of the Colorado are inconceivable to modern travelers. Their story is well told at the Fort. Each cabin (furnished by descendants) tells a story about that particular pioneer family. A seventeen minute movie enriches the visit. These pioneers arrived here after passing through "Hole in the Rock", ferrying across the Colorado River then passing through canyons and mesas - amazing. Someday we'll take our Jeep and find "Hole in the Rock". The guides were really friendly and helpful too. While here, we were able to see the Bluff Balloon Festival. We could walk among the balloonists as they prepared their hot-air balloons, we followed them during their flight and were there when they landed. As they launched, we drove to the cemetery bluff to watch them ascend and were close enough we could talk with them as they drifted by.Stopping at Bluff Fort is well worth the time!

This is a real gem where you can step back in time to days of the Mormon settlers to whome some of the staff are related. You get a real feal for how much hardship they went through to get here from Salt Lake and how they lived. A must to visit even if you passing through Bluff.

It was open until 7:00 pm on a Sunday! what a nice surprise after a nice dinner nearby. The couple running the information center was so nice. A must see!

we just called in here thinking it would take us an hour to see it all. we were there all morning it was that good. It is so much bigger than it looks with excellent cabins, furnished and open to go inside without restrictions. each cabin has a tape explaining about the family who lived there. Inside the visitor centre there is a very interesting video to watch detailing the journey the mormons had to undertake to arrive in Bluff, an unbelievable story of the hardships endured by the pioneers.Great knowledgable staff too, who are all volunteers. It is all free too.

A visit to the fort includes a short film on the history of the Mormon trek to this part of Utah and it was fascinating. It was also interesting to look around at the type of accommodation that was built when they eventually arrived, plus the type of wagons they used. The early settlers certainly put up with a lot of hardship to make it there.

We visited in September and was greeted by an extremely helpful ad friendly guide who told us the story and background of the settlement and showed us the very good video, outside was very good with the cabins and wagons and what we thought would be just a usual visit to a museum turned out to be one of the interesting of our trip. We were also invited to their Friday dance which we would have loved to have gone to but were too late after our meal to go. Not to be missed.

We dropped in here for a quick visit but stayed the whole morning. Re-created as a defensive village on the original site that the early settlers came to after a hazardous journey, the site tells the story and has some most interesting exhibits. If you are interested in early history the this is a must

We did not expect much when we entered the fort, but we have been very pleasently surprised. The whole area gives a very good picture how the founders of Bluff spent their first years, including several re-built and original cabins, horse-wagons etc.The guides are very open, friendly and engaged. The movie they show has good quality, and an excellent german translation.

This is a reconstruction of a fort built by the Mormons when inhabiting this area. It gives a lot of background and some interesting stories. Well worth and hour or so's visit. It is in the middle Bluff so easy to walk to if you are staying there.

Not a fort, but a great site well worth a few hours to visit. The museum and the recreated homes give a vivid history of the settlement of this area. We were left with the greatest admiration for the faith and toughness of the first settlers. The volunteer staff were very friendly and informative, and we appreciated not been given the Latter Day Saints hard sell.Highly recommend trying the home made biscuits. In addition to the historic elements, there is a centre producing hand made crafts. The ladies in this centre are very friendly and are happy to share the time and talents.
