This must be a great place to take very small kids, as evidenced by the makeup of the crowds, especially on extremely hot days. To be fair, it's a municipal facility in the heart of one of Minnesota's larger cities so you can't really fault it for its popularity. Kind of reminds me of the summer day crowds at the Jersey shore when I was a kid.Sterile surroundings (but with all those kids, I hate to think about what ends up in the water) and pleasant for what it is. To their credit, (and despite the wrath of the soccer parents with their toddlers just-arrived for a hot afternoon), I have seen staff kick all out of the water and shut down the pool when a child vomited. Just hope they're always that vigilant.Pretty much the only show in town if you're looking for this sort of thing. Staff does a good job running it and the lifeguards seem very attentive.
I'm surprised there aren't more reviews for this place! This is an awesome waterpark. The website doesn't do this place justice. My 8-year old called it "Aaamazing!"I would guess there were a thousand people at Cascade Bay on the 88 degree Saturday in August. (Maybe I'm off- but it seemed like a lot!) It was plenty comfortable with all those people, though. At $10 per person, we felt it was a great value! We drove one hour and forty minutes- and it was well worth the drive! I would drive several hours and make a weekend stop out of it. I would also recommend those staying in the Bloomington/Mall of America area, to take the 5 minute(?) drive to get there. As long as the weather is good, I would rank this above Nickelodeon Universe, Waterpark of America, Como Zoo, Valleyfair, etc. It's even a city waterpark! I wish we had this in our area!Cascade Bay has something for every age. We saw wee little ones enjoying the zero entry pool, the sand box area, the small waterslide, and the sprinklers. For adventurous kids, teenagers, and adults, there are two waterslides (one is really fast), a tube slide, and a lazy river. For kids over 42", there are three slides that come out of a pirate ship. They have pools with different water depths. Deep ones, too!Cascade Bay has a basic mini golf course. It really doesn't have any frills, but at $2 per person- it's a fair price. It wasn't overly busy- even with all the people! I would recommend it.We had lunch at the concessions. That wasn't overly busy either, and they had plenty of seating. We had 2 cheeseburgers, 2 slices of pizza, 2 fountain pops, and 2 fries for $21. They also had things like: nachos, ice cream, chips, mozzarella sticks, water, etc. They do not allow food into the waterpark. That's the bummer part, but understandable. We saw some people eat near their cars. The waterpark allows you to come and go. It would be nice if they had a picnic area set up outside the park. I'm sure concessions are a big part of their business, though. If I had to do all over, I would have brought a picnic. I didn't see a restaurant "right next" to the waterpark. We stayed from 11:40 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We had to pull the kids away to get home for work :( We could have spent the entire day!My only negative comment:The restrooms/changing rooms could really use an attendant all day. They were pretty messy. The water faucets were not working properly and a couple were running most of the day. Otherwise, the park was beautiful and very well kept! We felt safe and comfotable. They also had a ton of lifeguards. My advice to others:If you're a sun worshiper- there is plenty of sun! If you enjoy shade- I would get there the minute the park opens. We got there 40 minutes after opening and all of the shady/cabana spots were taken. We placed our towels in the grass.Overall, this park was a pleasant surprise! We would definitely return! And, we will tell all of our friends about it!
We went there at 6:20pm on a Sunday night and they said they were closing early for a private event at 6:30pm...even thogh there hours say there open till 8:30pm every Sunday. Dosent seem right to close early when they've put there regular hours as being something else. Thanks for wasting our time.
This was our second time at this waterpark. We enjoyed it so much the first time a couple of years ago, that we came back. We brought a 4 year old and a 15 year old and we all had fun. There is a zero entry pool entry and there are several water slides of all different heights. The lazy river was enjoyed by all of us!There are restrooms. There are many chaise lounges, some with shade. It is very clean with food and lockers available. We got our hand stamped, went to nearby fast food restaurants and had a picnic right outside the gate area.I was a little disappointed that they didnt have the big pump tubs of sunscreen that they had on our first visit, though. Also, I wish that they would allow coolers for food and beverages.Cascade Bay is a great summer activity!
Cascade Bay is Eagan's swimming pool/water park facility. It includes a lazy river, several water slides (of varying heights/types), zero entry pool for little ones, a large sand box area for kids to play in, and a mini-golf course. There's a well-kept, clean shower area, and lockers are available. Food is available for purchase at the snack bar. The lazy river is probably my favorite feature, as it is a great way to relax and enjoy the sun with friends and family. In addition one of the slides (which you ride with a tube) ends in the lazy river and it's fun but not overly high or overly scary. The lazy river also includes a "waterfall" and "rapids" feature which is a great way to cool off when you're getting a little too warm after a few laps around the river. The only negative is this park doesn't allow visitors to bring in coolers for food and/or beverages. It would be helpful for families especially if this would change.
This is a perfect waterpark for elementary school age kids. Lots of slides for kids 42 inches and up. Not much for the tiny kids - one very small slide and a nice sand play area. Life guards galore, well kept and clean decks and bathrooms. It gets very busy from 11 to 3, but tapers off a lot later in the day. Perfect place for late afternoon and early evening.
I love Cascade Waterpark. It is always clean with lots to do. There is plenty of seating and a place to buy food and drinks. It is fun for all ages.
Part was safe, and well secured. There were lots of tweens at the park, and of course they behaved as tweens, but a good time was had.
