This farmers market is very small but worth the trip if you are in town. There is: jewelry, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, pottery, soaps, teas, eggs, farm raised meats, crafts and wooden kitchen accessories.

After watching the Abingdon farmers market grow from day one (where it is located now) I have learned that what makes Abingdon special can be seen at the farmers market if you come often and interact with both the vendors and patrons. I could not imagine the market not being there. Come see for yourself.

Wife and I stayed two days in Abingdon. She was doing her genealogy research and I was tagging along. After visiting the very well resourced historical society (highly recommended) we went shopping and found Heartwood. It is well stocked with juried art and crafts from local crafts people. Everything from woodwork, fiber and hand made knives. Something got everyone. It was very enjoyable and I would highly recommend it.

We have visited the Farmers Market many times and we are never disappointed. There are fresh fruits and veggies grown right here in this region and many of them are organically grown. There is wine, cheese, eggs and even local crafts! They often have special events and demos and there is usually something for the kids too. Take a cooler with you so that you can keep your purchases safe while you spend the rest of the day shopping and looking around in beautiful Abingdon.

One of the best Famers Markets in the Tri-City area. Lots of fresh produce in season from March until Oct. and then have a holiday market during Nov. and Dec. Prices are fair compared to grocery stores. Also, have local musicians to play on Sat. Open on Tues. afternoons and Sat. mornings.

This small market was incredible. The selection of vendors very varied. Food was especially out of this world with unusual features such as nut butters and exotic cookies and pastry. There were some arts and crafts and I would have liked to see more of this type vendor, but it was still a great market. They also had two drum and fife corps playing in genuine historical uniforms. Very nice touch.

You will find fresh organic farm fresh meat, wide variety of produce, herbs, fresh backed breads and pastries, soaps, flowers, wine and so much more. I am always willing to pay more for something that I know is locally grown or locally made, these folks work hard and I think their prices are fair. I love the organic meats and produce they offer. Depending upon the time of year you may find everything from rhubarb to sweet corn. There are open air stalls where good southern woman have made breads, cakes , cookies and other yummy fair. You may also choose to eat lunch and they offer a wide selection depending upon what is in season. I love coming to the Market, it gives off such a wonderful sense of community and community pride ! I drive 30 one way just to go and we make a day out of it. Check out the Historic little town of Abingdon while you are there, plenty of restaurants, cafes and locally owned shops . Great day trip for the family !

The structure of the market is really nice, and there is music and other attractions usually. But the vendors charge WAY too much for everything. And that's why you go to a market to buy produce, baked goods, and other items. These guys simply charge too much. Go there for the atmosphere, but to buy anything, go to the Glade Spring Farmer's market. I won't waste my time in Abingdon again.
