We attended our first play at the Playhouse on Park last weekend and the show "Proof" was exceptionally good. The four actors were excellent and really made me feel like I was on Broadway. The show is wonderful and I cannot wait to go back. I loved the blackboard when we exited the theater - you could write a special message to the cast. What a great idea! The people working there were all so sweet and attentive - I felt at home. It was all in all a great event!

Volunteered to help usher here when "Cabaret" was playing two seasons ago, and was blown away by the caliber of the show. Have been back for several other shows and always felt the evening and ticket money was well spent. There are few seats and they are all good, if you live in the area and haven't been here, I highly recommend you have a night out at this little gem of a theater!

I went to a 2:00 matinee on Sunday with friends to see The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. This our first time attending this adorable small theater. The best seats are "center", but the actors made sure they including everyone in the theater with this play. Our seats were "house right" and were perfectly fine and extremely comfortable. We were greeted so nicely as we entered the door and the ushers were most helpful. From the start of the play to the end we all were thoroughly entertained. The play was well written, included patrons from the audience and was so much fun. The actors gave stellar perfomances. It was a lovely afternoon and we will definitely return.

It is great having a quality theater company in West Hartford. The Playhouse on Park is trying to elevate itself with more ambitious productions. They should be applauded for this effort. They do still have a ways to go. Their shows can be very hit or miss. Some, like last year's "Cabaret," are of high quality, but some of their more recent shows have been lackluster. Time will tell.

Been to the Playhouse several times over the last four years. Last night we saw Lend Me a Tenor. It was a great fast paced comedy with some fantastic performers. Loved every part of it. Where can you go to see a show where you are within arms reach of the stage?

While visiting Hartford's Welcome Center, we saw an ad for Monday Main Stage, put on by Playhouse on Park. Adverised as singing waiters, with showtunes and other familiar music, we were looking forward to seeing this in the diner setting at AC Peterson Farms next door.It was advertised as being from 6-8 p.m. At 6:30, the two singers announced that neither their soeakers or mic worked. I mean, they do this twice a month and the playhouse is right next door. Did they not check their equipment? So, the two singers alternated walking around singing. The girl sang mostly Disney princess tunes and Christmas songs. The guy sang, but was off and it seemed that his song seldom went with the music, plus each had to sing the lines while looking at their phones as they often did not know the lines. It was like bad karaoke. It was a waste of time. Maybe young children and Disney fans woyld enjoy it, but it was NOT as advertised.

Just a great intimate and professional theater. Show assortment superb as well as performers, especially the in house dance group

They really have a quirky little theater going here and take full advantage of the fact that a lot of unemployed talent coming out of NYC is eager to stay active even as they look for bigger and better things. Indeed, the entire Hartford Theater scene benefits from this NYC connection and you can see some top of line actors in a huge range of plays in the city. This particular place is next door to the landmark late night ice cream sundae stop, AC Petersons, so when they have more family friendly plays going on be sure to swing next door for the real whipped cream. I only give the theater three stars because the quality is inconsistent. But I applaud the brave owners who operate on a shoe string and remain committed to offering fresh plays in the Hartford area.

...at least for me. Almost fun,the cast's enthusiasm filled the theater. The camo costumes worked real well & the guns were used to good effect-there could be a no more exciting death.Desdemona's strip was worth the price of admiss.

The productions at this theatre are first-rate, the parking is free and easy, there are no bad seats, and it's a great night out.

Playhouse on Park is a treasure in West Hartford. For theater dance, or other special events they sometimes put on, it is a great place to visit.

An intimate theatre that produces amazing shows...from kids shows, comedy nights, musicals, dance revues, summer camp and classical drama. Reasonable tickets, often available as last minute idea for night out. Partnership with local restaurants for discount meals!

Also after the cast was available in the lobby for photos and then they go next door to AC Petersens restaurant to speak with patrons as many go there after for ice cream!
