We stay in Gulf Shores for the winter and have 2 excellent Palmer courses there, so we were expecting the same. In general, the course was just OK and far as the shape it was in. It does have a nice layout, with lots of carries. As seniors, we found it quite challenging (not a down side). What surprised me was we played on a Sunday and there was no starter/ranger, some ball washers were empty, single members were jumping holes (we talked to 2 of them) as the play was so slow. We saw the cart girl on the front but never on the back. There were flush restrooms on the front but never even saw a porta john on the back. Few women's clothes in Pro Shop. Friendly staff. Found a great deal hidden on Golf Now.

If you are a serious golfer The Bridges is for you! Wonderful Arnold Palmer layout through the back bay of Bay St. Louis, MS at the Hollywood Casino. There is plenty of topography for the golfer to take on for such a flat area of the state. Originally from New Orleans and now living in Austin, TX, I was not expecting such a gem of a course. Growing up playing many different courses in the New Orleans area most are pretty flat and greens are slow. Other than the recent courses I have played in the area, English Turn, Lakewood Country Club and TPC Louisiana all these courses have held the local PGA Tournament in New Orleans which is now currently held at the TPC course. The Bridges by far has the fastest greens I have seen in the area. They rolled true and were super speedy. I always enjoy playing fast greens as they are usually true. The layout has many memorable holes and lots of bog, marsh and sand to deal with so make sure you can stay in the fairway. Our family played the day after Thanksgiving so the fairways were brown and had many tight lies as the grass was still dormant but was very playable. Did I mention the greens and how fast they were? We pretty much putted all putts unless within 12 inches and many a putts were missed outside the 12 inch range as the greens were fast and you had to be steady and accurate. It was a fun test of golf and next time I am in the NOLA area, I definitely want to play this course again when the grass has grown in. Now knowing the layout and what to expect, I look forward to playing The Bridges again. It is well worth the 70 minute drive to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and I can say it has become one of my favorite courses in the area. A family golf outing is always the best as trash talking commences from the ride over, the actual playing time and the ride back. Add to this a really nice course with fabulous greens and it was a very enjoyable experience! Plus when you beat your family that even adds to the experience! GO PLAY THE BRIDGES!

another Palmer target golf course, very good layout if you don't want to grip it and rip it. used driver twice from the yellow tees. nice if you hit it where you want to all the time.no level putts but greens seemed fair to read and putt. quick but not too fast. as with other Palmer courses I have played if you don't hit the fairway you probably lost a ball. unforgiving.

This is a typical resort golf course in the South, nicely maintained however after a nice downpour stay away as the course is quite soggy. Holes are well designed and meander through trees, some fairways are generous but others tight and need a straight shot, I play from the back tees and am a low handicap player so I like to feel like I am tested on every hole which this course will do, if you miss the fairways the rough is very tough to impossible to get out especially if wet. from the front tees this course offers a nice relaxation game and really cannot cause much trouble unless you spray the ball everywhere. Price is reasonable if you stay at the Casino Hotel next door you will get some discount from your host if you play the casino. Can be slow at times when you have slower guests in front of you. Worth the drive to play if within the area.

I stayed at the Hollywood Casino in Bay St.Louis and called for a tee time after arriving at the hotel on May 28th, 2014. Before making tee time I read about the Arnold Palmer designed course and how it was ranked in the top 40 casino courses and the top 10 course in the state of Mississippi. So I was excited to play and see if it lived up to the accolades. Now I have only been playing golf a year and still consider myself a beginner so I knew this course would be challenging. Upon pulling in the parking lot a worker on a cart asked if I wanted a lift to the club house which I gladly accepted. My tee time was for 2:30 and normally the rate is around 60 dollars and around 80 dollars for earlier times, but since I was with a law enforcement conference I paid 43 dollars. The fairways were some of the greenest and prettiest I have played on thus far. The greens were even better. Now there are a lot of water on holes that come into play often because the course is built around natural marshes native to the gulf coast. There are many, many bridges that you will have to cross hence the name of the course. I thought that was unique. Now I must say I did not get to play all 18 holes because it was overcast when I went out and the sky opened up about the 10th hole and I returned to the club house. I would highly recommend this course to anybody visiting the gulf coast area. I believe its challenging enough for the low handicap golfer and still enjoyable for the high handicap golfer. Top notch course tucked away in a beautiful area of the bay.

One of the most beautiful courses I've ever played. I try and play it every time I'm on the coast. The layout is very difficult for a bogey golfer such as myself. Highly recommend bringing plenty of balls. The scenery and wildlife makes it worth the trip to just ride along. The maintenance and staff are the best and the course reflects that.

The golf course is very difficult. You have to be long off the tee as the course is built on wetlands, and you have to carry the wetlands on many holes. The name of the course, Bridges, is appropriate, as you have to cross a bridge on most holes. Course is well maintained, and the clubhouse/bar has great food.

I play there all the time, it is a very good golf course. It is a little tight in places and deciving on some holes, don't be afraid to use your 3 metal instead of driver on many holes, if you are unsure, use the 3, you will score better. The greens roll very well and true the majority of the time, the bigest problem with the course is the sand traps, they tend to get packed. Try to play with someone that knows the course, it will help you greatly. The course gets alot of play so book well in advance, and they close at 5 pm winter hrs.
