This is the 3rd time I've come here and every time I learn something new. I love, love, love the champagne stopper and have bought a couple. Every one I've ever come with has had fun.
My wife and I decided to do a quick getaway to Branson because I have not been there and she had not been in 30 years. We decided to catch the stone hill wine tour and tasting before dinner.Tour was fun and we like the wine and have visited herman. But I must say , Del was what made the event. He should be a stand up comedian , it's clear he loves his job and loves people, couldn't help but think of my dad who is a Korean War vet who can make you laugh just like Del. thanks !
This was not on our original list of things to do. However, the tour was free and the wine tasting was amazing. Our guide, Cali, was funny and just plain fun. Tasted 14 wines and we had a great time with the group we were tasting with. Cali made the experience memorable as we left Stone Hill with half a case of wine. The wine was fabulous and we learned quite a bit about Missouri wines. Who would have known.
They walk you around the building and as far as I could tell the only think that was like a winery was the one person putting demonstration corks into bottles he just filled all with the express purpose of selling bottles of wine after the tasting
We weren't able to do the winery tour, as we had in the past, due to the weather. I think most of Branson shut down for two days due to snow and ice. We were pleased, however that Stonehill winery was even open. We were still given the tasting with Del, who was a wonderful guy. He was great with the stories, and was extremely helpful. If you're there, don't forget to thank Del for his service to our country, as he is a Vet.Since we have been here in the past, we were excited to buy several bottles of wine to bring back to our friends as gifts. They have a discount if you buy 12 bottles, which is a great perk.
The tasting room was great and the wine is very delish! The person doing the samples was very knowledgeable of the wine and the flavors. They have some wonder cheese and olive selections, and fun wine shop goodies.
The overall experience of the winery was excellent. The older gentleman doing the educational part of the bottling process, though, has obviously bought in to the whole Branson Hillbilly theme, and totally ruined the tour for us. The facility itself and tasting room are classy, higher end, yet the products are priced for the "average Joe." My only suggestion would be to teach the presenter to have more class so as not to demean the environmental experience of the wine tasting tour. Del was very knowledgeable about the wines he presented and saved the tour experience for us....and enabled us to leave on a very favorable note.
Over all we enjoyed our tour and was satisfield with the variety of tastings. I would say i would like to see a little more in the elite tasting though.
I'm not a dry wine person but Stonehill has some of the most delicious wines dry and sweet. We left with a case of wine and could have bought more.
I wasn't too sure I would like any wine here as I like dry wines more. But I was pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed the educational tour and my husband and I both like many of the wines. We got 2 souvenir glasses because we bought so much. It wasn't one of those walk in and taste places. Take your time and enjoy it, that's what it's about.
Short and interesting tour. The wine tasting was fun. Our tour guide was knowledgeable. It is a fun way to spend an hour and a half.
Stone Hill winery has some very good wine. I definitely recommended a stop here while in Branson. The tour was really fun and interesting. Thanks, Corky!! Could just be the wine talking right now, but I am going to make an effort to visit the winery every time I am in Branson!
Been on several tours here and love it every time. They have wonderful wine and Del was our guide this time and he was great!
This was an excellent visit. The staff was extremely friendly and very knowledge. The tasting room is bright, airy and very well laid out. There is plenty of room for everyone and no one is rushed. The wines were excellent and prices are very reasonable. We purchased four bottles and on our next visit will purchase several more.
A must place to visit great people and history with a free free tasting These are great folks and you can get engraving on different items
