We enjoy coming here and having a glass of wine and of course purchasing a nice bottle or 2 of wine. If we just want to relax or get a bit of history with a ghost or two thrown in, here is where we like to bring our friends. In addition they host mystery dinner theaters if you reserve the time ahead, or you may have to make room for those at showers, weddings, or other activities that are happening here.
Nice little start up winery right outside of Liberty. Great quick stop and short little tour type thing. Not a ton of food selection, but the wine tasting is a nice quick thing to do. The overall property is being slowly renovated to have a hotel and other attractions/activities. When that's done, it should be very nice.
Belvoir Winery is located in an historic, possibly ghost-inhabited building on the edge of Liberty MO. The wines are very good, and cheese/cracker platters are available. Indoor and outdoor spaces for comfortable seating. See their website for the services offered including weddings. Expansion has been planned to renovate more spaces in the huge building which was an Odd Fellows home.
I've been here several times. The last time was for an event. The haunted buildings are really fun. There was a haunted old car in the back. The wines are good and the tastings are free! The event rooms are vintage, beautifully decorated, spacious, and very clean.
My husband and I tried several different wines and finally after a long decision choose 2 bottles to take home. We choose a red wine called Boo's it is delicious! We also got a bottle of white wine called Sorelle Dolci. Also amazing!
They have 8 wines to sample. The wine tastings are free. The estate is beautiful and you feel the history. I recommend coming here. The wines are good.
For a family birthday celebration recently; we throughly enjoyed our time spent at Belvoir.. We were not able to tour during our stay; tho we saw much that was interesting and impressive..We hereby recommend all to visit; and plan to return to take it all in...
We have visited the winery on a couple of occasions. Once to photograph and document the graves in their cemetery and once to just look around the building. They have really made the place beautiful inside and out. The staff is very friendly and I love that they use their wall space to display artworks by local high schoolers. Great place to visit.
What an amazing experience! Not only did we get to enjoy the great wine, the atmosphere, Jesse (the CEO) who was very kind and helpful but we were allowed to ghost hunt in all the buildings! It was also amazing to get to meet Amy, Adam and Britt from the Ghost Hunters/TAPS, Chip from Psychic Kids and Adam Blai, a demonologist. What more could you ask for!!
I took a tour of this reportedly haunted winery last weekend with 3 friends. The event was called Boos & Booze & it was $35 per person. It was 3 hours, 2 of which were spent in a large room with the tour guide talking about his adventures there while we did a wine tasting of the 6 different wines they produce. The best white wine, in my opinion, was the Chardonel which they sold for $25 per bottle. The ghost stories were pretty good ( the hair on my arms stood up a few times), and they let us look at some of their paranormal equipment, but we were all a little disappointed that we spent so much time listening & not much time exploring. The buildings we visited were in REALLY bad shape which does not bother me but the basements were cold & wet. 2 of the 4 of us said they felt a presence, & a 3rd one noted some creepy voices on her recording so our visit was not without occurrence. It was good but I think it could have been better.
The wine is great, reasonably priced. The grounds offer an extremely fascinating trip into local history. A must stop for history and wine buffs!
I have just experienced my second trip to the Belvoir Winery! The fisrt time we went to a wine tasting/ghost talk. The wines were good, the ghost stories interesting, and it was fun to take a tour of the old buildings, even though they are dilapedated its fun to take in all the history. The staff is wonderful as well. The second time was last weekend we spent a day with the ghost hunters then that night we got to try anc communicate with ghosts in each building, our group for sure had a wonderful time talking to a young ghost in the bunker. This day was so much fun!
We visited on my husbands birthday. We managed to hit a slow time of day and had very personal service. The wine was delicious .
It is suppose to be a completed B&B in two years. It is amazing to go explore for the day. Seen on ghost hunters, the first floor is open to explore and the grounds are. You can look through the windows of the other buildings and of course sample their six wines at the bar!
My daughter had her wedding here. Fabulous, beautiful place!!!! Perfect place for a get-away day or a wedding. The photographer said it was a perfect place for photos! Everyone from te highest on down was fantastic and easy to work with. They couldn't do enough to make it a perfect day for my daughter!! I had never been there nor heard of it before my daughter said she wanted to get married there. I will be coming back just for a relaxful day with a glass of delicious wine!!!!
