great lakes national cemetery

My grandfather is buried here. They take honoring the final resting place our service men and women very seriously.

If you happen to be in the are during the summer months, and especially around the 4th of July, stopping by this cemetery for a few minutes will really do your heart good. Flags on all of the graves, blowing in the summer wind, with the ducks in the pond in the background.....it just doesn't get any better than this for a final resting place. It's the LEAST we can do for our veterans!

I know... who wants to rate a cemetery, but take a drive out there and you'll see why. It's impressive! It will put you in a very thankful mood.

From the entrance drive lined with American flags to the grounds overlooking the lake the entire setting is beautiful. Now during the Christmas season with the wreaths on all of the graves it is an awesome site. The Great Lakes National Cemetery is a location everyone should visit.

This is a National Cemetery for veterans Very well done grounds for our vets. A solemn place to pay tribute to those that served in the military.
