I never knew there was so much to know about mushrooms. Very different than any other gardening. Lots of tasty chips. Shrooms (dried mushroom chips) are great, especially on salads. I never knew mushrooms were such an important PA product.

It is a great place got tourists but we in the know are aware that it is rather expensive so we locals buy our mushrooms at Rockee's in Lincoln University for about one third of what they cost at the Mushroom Cap- all sorts of exotics there and the staff is very friendly. It is just a tiny little mushroom outlet but worth the 15 minute drive from Kennett and the staff at the Mushroom Cap are not particularly accommodating. But the wealthy tourists like it and Kennett is a "cool" little borough so give it a try.

This shop is endearing- mushroom & toys. Kathy & Teresa are enaging, informative & knowledgeable not only about their store items, the mushroom industry, toys & the local area.I went home with a shopping bag of fresh mushrooms, mushroom food item & don't miss going downstairs to the Toy Store/children's items.I bought the cutest baby footwear for friends' little girl.I will go back to the Mushroom Cap again.

We had a great stop in this shop! We browsed about and shopped. At the end of our visit, the shop owner took our picture with our brother and sister-in-law under the sign for Kennett Square sign in the shop. Once taken, she will email it to all of us. We just had fun chatting with her. There was no pressure to buy anything - but we surely did!

What a cute shop and delightful staff!! We got 3 pounds of fresh mushrooms there, which the staff member had packed in advance very carefully for us, as we told her we were not heading back home for 24 hours. The mushrooms were in great shape when we used them 48 hours later to make a large batch of mushroom soup. The mushrooms were high quality, much fresher and better than we get in our local supermarket. We will seek the Mushroom Cap out to buy mushrooms again, when we are back in Kennett Square.

Kennett Square is the mushroom capital and of course there has to be a store!!! And it's wonderful. The owner is delightful and the trinkets are both amusing and fun. Visit this store if in PA

This place is AWESOME!!! :) Kathy the owner is simply lovely and can tell you pretty much anything and everything you want to know about mushrooms, being her and her husband have been in the industry most of their life. We first met Kathy on the Tour of Kennett Square and watched a great video she has playing in the back of the store, which gave us a virtual tour of how mushrooms are harvested. Pretty darn amazing! I had no idea that these little buggers were so good for you?? She sells ALL kinds of great stuff. This is definitely a MUST to stop by and visit when you're in Kennett Square. It really is a Mushroom Heaven!! :)

My mother and I stopped here on the way back from a trip to VA, as per the recommendation by my uncle. The owner Kathi, was an absolute delight. We came here to pick up a few gifts for my brother who is a mushroom enthusiast (actually he just loves them on his steak and burgers) and were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of products in store. We got him a cute plush mushroom and mushroom chocolates, I got my bf a "mushroom capital of the world" shirt (because you can't go to the mushroom capital of the world and not get a t-shirt...). In addition, as a foodie, I appreciated how many mushroom related food products were in store (handmade dry pastas, tomato sauces, snack n shrooms, which were dried flavored mushroom chips (I enjoyed a sample of the garlic and mild, and bought a bag of garlic which was finished within minutes of arrival at home), olives stuffed with mushrooms, soup mixes...the list goes on.) I also wanted to say there is a lot more products in store than on the website as well. They had a little educational setup in the back of the store, that describes mushroom anatomy and how they are harvested, and I swear when you look through the mushroom-shaped keyhole, that you could get a whiff of fresh mushrooms too! It was an enjoyable experience and I can't wait to cook with/taste all the products we got.

My wife and I just left the Mushroom Cap after spending a delightful 30 minutes with Kathi, the owner of the store. We learned all about the growing of mushrooms and were able to sample several of the dry mushrooms that she is producing. We highly recommend a visit to the store to see all the delightful things that are for sale all relating to mushrooms.

We showed up after hours but the sign on the door said if the door was unlocked come on in. The owner was as nice as she could be. She talked to us at length about the mushrooms being grown in the area.

The owner and her husband went out of their way to inform and entertain 34 students about the mushroom industry around Kennett Square. If you want to learn or purchase anything related to the vast differences between mushroom varieties, nutritional makeup, and how they are grown, I highly recommend this shop.

We stopped at Kennett Square on our way to West Chester and found this gem of an establishment. A delightful shop filled with all things mushroom- so perfect once we learned that Kennett Square is the "Mushroom Capital of the World". And in the back of the shop is a lovely section of mushroom artifacts & a display on the mushroom industry- so cool to learn about this local industry. We met the owner who was so knowledgeable about mushroom farming, cooking, etc. We will definitely go back on our next trip through this beautiful town!

On our way from Longwood Gardens toward home, we decided to stop in the mushroom capital to check it out. We wandered into The Mushroom Cap and spent a fun half hour learning about the the process of mushroom farming and mushrooms in general. You can buy so many different types of mushroom products - dried and fresh, soups, pastas, etc. Kathy was more than willing to help up pick out products and answer questions. Don't miss it for a fun time.
