Almost like heaven.... perhaps it is just a dream. In my next life I want to live there. Spend endless hours just enjoying life.

This house is unique and such a great example of Frank Lloyd Wright's work. The very friendly Kathy gave told us some stories about the Johnson family who built it, then we watched a 20 minute video of the Johnson children who grew up here telling stories, some absolutely hilarious, of living there. Then, we were on our own to explore. You can sit on furniture, touch things and wander to your heart's content. They even lit a fire for us in the main living space so we could enjoy it as Mr. Wright intended. I can't recommend this highly enough. And, it's free!

Was really fun to tour this Frank Lloyd House designed house designed for the founder of SC Johnson. We were given a short intro prior to the tour, then watched a very good 20-minute or so video, that gave insight from the "kids" as to what it was like growing up there. After that, we were free to roam the house on our own, with no timeframe. If you are in the area, you should make it a stop, but be sure to make an appointment ahead of time. The tour itself is free. Can't go wrong there! The grounds are also open, so you can walk the trails and just explore if the weather is conducive to such. We will return.

This was my favorite stop on our Frank Lloyd Wright pilgrimage. The house itself, designed by FLW for the Johnson Wax heir, is a delight, well kept up and you can take photos. At Taliesen, while the interior is tending toward shambles, no photos are allowed. The other plus was our tour guide, a woman, who was great- warm, welcoming and friendly, unlike our guide at the Johnson Wax tour. Wingspread, is owned by the Johnson Foundation and tours are free and open to the public. We met in the main living room, near a fireplace (there are a lot of fireplaces in this house) where the tour guide explained how the house came to be. We then saw a very informative film, which was funny, interviewing the children who were raised at Wingspread, which also made some of the things you see in the house (the table that ushered out place settings and the crow's nest overlook) more interesting. It is furnished and set up to look as the time it was lived in. We walked around the grounds first, since we were early, which was nice and went up the narrow spiral staircase for an overview of the grounds. My only regret is I can't remember the name of our delightful tour guide- she had curly blonde hair and glasses.

We had the opportunity to tour the house Frank Lloyd Wright designed for the Johnson family and it is a totally amazing building. Only FLW could design such a home with some beautiful if not dysfunctional elements. If you have the opportunity to visit, please do, the grounds and views from the second floor are especially beautiful in the summer.

Drive up the long winding driveway and this sprawling former home of Frank Lloyd Wright waits you. Hear stories on the short video and from the guide. Enjoy the view from the crow's nest tower if you can brave the winding open staircase. Stunningly beautiful, even if not built for comfort!

We went through it 2 different times. First time it was sunny. The second time it was raining and gray. Wingspread looked entirely different both times. The way things were designed then seemed way before their time. It isn't for everybody's tastes for sure. Very good tour. The movie at the beginning is worth the watch. It explains the house, the architect and has a bit of humor in it as well.

If you are a Frank Lloyd Wright fan this is marvelous & free!!!! The movie with Jim Peck interviewing Sam Johnson is worth the visit alone - great stories of living in the house. it is only an hour long - after the movie you are free to wander throughout the house - climb the staircase to the "crows" tower & look at all the pictures of years long gone by. Was a great visit and thank you to the Johnson Foundation for making the tour free to the public!!!

Not a ton of tourist things to do in Racine, but this is worth seeing.Unique architecture, peaceful surroundings, and free!You do need a reservation, so plan ahead.It's a historical landmark (not Chuck E Cheese) not really for kids under 12.FYI the Wind Point Lighthouse is a half mile east from here for a free photo opportunity.

What a lovely location to visit and tour! Once permitted inside the entrance gates, ypu feel the beauty and serenity of nature surrounding you. A special location to have a meeting for thinking.

What an amazing place for a training. Not only were the grounds and buildings amazing and peaceful, the staff here treated us like royalty. Each day I left stuffed. Breakfasts were great fresh fruit, yogurt, Kringle, and something warm- one day a Frittata, the other mini quiches. Then snacks between breakfast and lunch were almost a meal in itself. Lunch was amazing- 5 star both days I attended. I will have dreams about the Cream of Mushroom which is usually so bland and forgettable. I never knew mushroom soup could taste like that! Salmon so delicate and fresh baked bread so flavorful. On day 2 I was blown away by the steak and potatoes and cream of Asparagus soup. My co-workers raved about the desserts (while I chose to go back for seconds of the meat and potatoes ;)If I could get married again I would do it here!!! (But I love my hubby so that wont happen) but I am hoping to come back and take him on a tour!

Built for the Johnson family in 1939, it is amazingly modern. The open concept living room, gigantic fireplace under a domed roof is breathtaking. Now a conference centre, it is worth a visit especially if you are a Frank Lloyd Wright fan.

If you're ever in Racine, you'll want to visit Wingspread, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (house tours by appointment only). This "building" was actually used as a residence, albeit with a huge entertaining area. Fireplaces are multiple, and up to 30 feet high. Don't miss the chance to climb the tight circular stairway to the observation tower. And when you've completed the house tour, be sure and walk the grounds to see the beautiful garden.

What a lovely tour they provide of wingspread! Originally from Racine and Frank Lloyd Wrights influence in the city my family always searches out FLW homes to tour but had never toured wingspread in my hometown. This is a beautiful FLW home, with some really great stories from Sam and Karen Johnson. We were very pleased with our experience and Kathy, our tour guide was just a breathe of fresh air and radiated sunshine!

I am very interested in Frank Lloyd Wright and the homes he has build. This was just one of many I hope to visit. We were allowed to sit on one of Franks original couches and view the home. A short video and tour was well worth our time. You need to call and make a reservation but the tour was free.
