There's somethin for everyone here! We visited Mulready's Pub, Second Love Gifts and Radius Brewing Company one block over on Merchant. There is the Sweet Granada which sells chocolate confections... guaranteed you won't walk out with a treat! We wanted to visit the Gun Den and much more but time got away. Just walk down this street and you'll love the small town feel.

Lots of atmosphere. Drove through on Christmas Day so nothing was open. Would like to return and walk around.

Area was decorated for Christmas. We enjoyed walking up and down the street, going to Poehler's Antique Store and then the local micro brewery around the corner.

We came to watch the college football game and won so awesome! But we went downtown to see parade and shop before the afternoon game. The downtown area was very clean. The streets were lined with several families and small children everywhere waiting for the parade to start and wearing their team colors and cute Halloween costumes. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF AN ALL AMERICAN TOWN by Norman Rockwell. The families were all very friendly and so were the shop owners in this town. They had all kinds of shops. So thankful to see this small community preserve and flourish their downtown area. Enjoyed this beautiful weekend in Emporia Kansas ! A great place to visit and I bet a great place to live!

It is a great place for a stop over on our way to Wichita coming from St. Louis. The area was clean and nice to visit.

2 places that are definite go-to shops would be Sweet Granada (I think that's what it was called) is a candy shop. Smelled heavenly inside. And I ate my candy right up, so I don't have the box or the bag to make sure I got the name right. Also, go to Studio 11. They offer classes on the use of milk paint. We had a number of people, so they set up a private class several weeks before we were to be there. We got to choose between a sign or a chair and then submitted the saying/design we wanted on them. It was a 3 hour class and was great fun. The two owners/teachers were great fun!

I was visiting Flint Hills Tech in Emporia for work and needed some sight seeing in Emporia. I had eaten breakfast at a place on Commercial Street (Downtown) and noticed all the cute boutiques so I went back later to do some shopping. There are so many unique, awesome stores on Commercial street you will LOVE walking around downtown for an afternoon. I visited Junque Drawer, Studio 11 Boutique which turned out to be my two favorites. As I kept walking there is a great Antiques Mall (Pohlers I believe) that is fantastic as well! The buildings are historic and you have plenty of eating options as well. I ended my day walking towards an old theater and then saw Sweet Granda and HAD to check it out. We are talking AMAZING gourmet chocolates!!! The French Vanilla and Malt Balls were by far my favorite treat of the day!

Emporia's downtown has come back to life! Awesome mexican restaurant, coffee and sandwich shops, chocolate shop, irish pub, beautiful historic buildings and theatre, arts center, antique stores, and many cute boutiques all along Commerical Street, with Emporia State campus on the north end. The new Radius Brewery is just one block over on Merchant. Great to area to stroll and grab a bite or a drink, or do some shopping.
