We enjoyed our visit to Brown County Winery. The wines were excellent and the prices were good. The owner shared a lot of information. Fun visit!
I am not a wine expert but they had the best wine I have every tasted and it is very reasonably priced.
We stopped by the Brown County Winery on a whim as we were driving into Nashville, IN / Brown County to shop. I would have been disappointed if we had gone out of our way for this winery, sad to say. The plus is, there is no charge for the tastings; just a tip jar. Service was pleasant, but no information other than menu basics were offered about the wines. I usually purchase at least one bottle when visiting a winery, but this was the first time I just couldn't....no red wine anyway. There is a little shopping to do, but nothing I had to have. They might consider having "Brown County Winery" on a few more items just for folks looking for items to mark their vacations. Fall is a lovely time to visit the area and we did find another winery closer into shopping that we liked better.
We enjoy visiting wineries. While the staff was pleasant and the wine was good, it lacked that bit of "piazza" that you search for when going to a winery. We had a sampling, but were not told any of the background behind the wines. We weren't offered any information about the history of the winery or the local area. Reading the other reviews, perhaps we came on an off day. While I was not disappointed per-say, I did leave wanting more. I will return. Again, the wine was great and the staff pleasant. There is no reason not to return. I just hope on our next visit we will get some of the spice that we are accustomed to when we visit wineries.
We stopped here on the way to our vacation rental in Brown County. The service was great--very friendly and helpful. They offer free tastings of any of their wines, which was nice. We were impressed with their wines. My husband loved the autumn red, and I loved the vista rose and red. They have a front porch with a small table and chairs as well as a pair of rocking chairs. We each got a glass of wine and sat there, which was enjoyable. We even ended up stopping at their location in downtown Nashville the next day to pick up an extra bottle.
You cannot go wrong with any of their wines. Their Port is the best around, My husband has tried to find comparable Port but have not yet. It is aged in brandy barrels. We now live AZ and unless we make a trip back to Indy we have no Port.
We toured Brown County on a weekday and missed the crowds. Rock star parking. Our first stop was the Brown County Winery on State Road 46. They set the bar for great service. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and lots of suggestions regarding the various wines. we left with three bottles-two more than we had planned to purchase along with great meal ideas.
Sunday after lunch we drove to the Brown County Winery to get some wine and sample something different. I like the sweet stuff and my wife prefers the dry. Although she did like the port.., which is very good.... my favorite is the black raspberry.,.... very very good. Stop in and sample .all their flavors..... it is worth your time..... and they are open on Sundays
These wines are wonderful! Their dry reds are fabulous and you can taste the fruits in their fruit wines. Definitely worth stopping! Personnel were friendly and knowledgeable. Bottlerices quite reasonable!
Brown county is the best place to camp and visit. There is horse back riding, an aquatic center, hiking trails, biking trails, and much more. I have visited 1 time and camped 2 times. Every time I camp there, I go down to Monroe lake in Bloomington and rent pontoons. They have the best nature like campsites. And the good part about driving there that it isn't a long drive!
We popped into the downtown Brown County Winery in Nashville. Wine tastings were free and there was no limit. We tried a few dessert wines and a white wine. Their blackberry wine was fantastic! My husband, who isn't really a wine drinker, really enjoyed it too! It's a fun activity if you are out and about in downtown Nashville.
The fact not all the wines had a lot of sulfites in them, which causes a bitter taste. The tastings were free. We have been at a lot of wineries that charge and have a limit.
Visited the winery with five other people...each a wine drinker. Me, not so much. Hannah, our server, was there to guide me through the wine tasting process. Actually found and bought a bottle. Those experienced wine drinkers in the group were quite impressed with the variety of choices and Hannah's expertise. We were allowed to buy at the "case" price as collectively 12 bottles were purchased. Each purchase was rung up separately. Very convenient. My companions described the tastings as generous and the free aspect make it quite a pleasant stop. The winery had numerous accessories - as a gin drinker, my only accessory is a lime - and some great cheeses..
We are not normally dry red people but we always try one that is recommended. We loved the Autumn Red Wine. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes a sweeter wine.
I came across this winery a couple of years ago and I always make it a point to stop in when I'm in the area. They have a great Autumn red wine that I highly recommend. I also love the fact that tastings are free.
