Anytime I am in Indy, I always stay at the Marriott Downtown to have access to this Park...Outstanding area and always seems safe.

It was nice to have a quiet outdoor setting to walk so close to downtown. Even on a rather cool night it was a relaxing break from the "noise" of the city.

Its clean and quiet park east of downtown Indianapolis.There's an Art Museum next to it.I spent about an hour with my family had very reluxed time.There was only a couple of people other than us. This park has never been crowded, maybe. That's why there was a police carparked inside the park.

I enjoyed the pathways on both sides of the White River. Each side was also lined with the colorful trees of autumn. The trail is well-maintained. Everybody I came across was minding their own business. If my travels take me back to Indy, this place is somewhere I'll be sure to stop.

White River State Park was so beautiful! We spent the early afternoon there just walking around the park! The Canal Walk was sooooo pretty, especially with all the leaves changing. If you like sports I would definitely check out the NCAA museum in the park. The bottom floor was learning all about the sports and the top floor was all interactive. They park offered segway tours, bike rentals. This is a must see spot if you are in Indy!

In the summer the Park hosts concerts that are a really great time! Some of them are free, and others you have to pay for. I have seen O.A.R., Gavin Degraw and Jason Mraz here. There is a large parking deck at the venue, so parking is not a problem. You could also spend the day walking around downtown Indy, then walk over to the Park. It has lots of nice views of the River and is well worth a visit!

I loved that this park was a short walk from the city center. There is a slow food garden that was awesome and right in the middle of it, there was a little house for people to give and get free books. It was beautiful with the fall leaves changing, there were several families and couples getting professional photos done at the park.

Right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, this State Park complex includes the Indianapolis Zoo, and the very nice Eiteljorg Museum, housing an extensive collection of traditional and contemporary Native American art. Parking is very convenient and affordable. The walking paths along White River run through the southeast portion of the IUPUI University campus. The visitors center is staffed with friendly and knowledgeable people who are happy to direct visitors to other nearby downtown attractions, including the Massachusetts Avenue arts district.

Gardnes were on small size, but well layed out. Zoo is well done with natural enclosures and a short dolphin show,

Visiting downtown Indianapolis? You must walk over to White River State Park for relaxation! There are many attractions all in walking distance of your local hotel room, and you will get a real feel for this amazing city! Walk or run the canal & river trails, and if you'd rather ride then rent a bike or paddle boat. There is always something going on to participate in or you can just visit some of the many museums or one of the finest zoo's in the country all right there. Too many restaurant's to list with a wide variety of types & prices. Should you like to get out of the city area simply drive south on Pennsylvania Ave. that turns into US31 S. and head to the greenwood area. A smaller city with a huge offering of food, bars, shopping, and parks. If you want it, you'll find it there at a reasonable price. If you are bringing children be sure to visit the children's museum where they will be worn out with fun hands on things to do! You will love this city...

Was lucky to visit in the fall and to see the rainbow of colours. Overall, a very relaxing experience.

Went for the 1st time - Took our 4 and 7 year old to see the Penguin show - they loved it. We will go back to see the Lemur and Jerusalem show, it was a great experience!

Would like to go here for an outdoor concert. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Lots of people. Outdoor garden and some sculptures/art.

Who knew a huge city culd have such a great large park right downtown. Great walking paths and outstanding access to downtown, IUPUI and the Indy Zoo. Plenty of parking and lots of bike rentals.

Scenic place to take a quiet walk on weekends.Only negatives were very few places to eat right on the river and canal walks and very limited restrooms.
