This place is so unique, but very tasteful and quaint! The parking leaves something to be desired, but overall it is really good! Not a lot of choices on the menu, but you can find something everyone likes!
it was just a beautiful place. History and setting just so peaceful. I would love to return for the various events they have planned.
Site has been home to Becks Mill for over 200 years. Descendants of the mill donated it to the Friends of Beck's Mill in 2004 while Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cook generously helped fund renovation of the mill. Today, the renovated mill is operated solely by volunteers and through donations/admission fees; there are no paid employees. All volunteers are passionate about the mill. Feel free to ask questions. If a guide doesn't know an answer, he or she will find the answer for you. Guides are knowledgeable about the mill, history and the surrounding area. The grounds are well-kept and beautiful. Trails are marked. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon at the mill-just like folks used to. Or, get carry-out from nearby Garden Table Market and enjoy your meal in the cool shade by the dam at the mill while listening to the water fall. Excellent place for field trips. Gift shop sells corn meal and grits that were ground on-site. Mill is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. (Open 11-4) Admission is $5 per adult. (Children are free)
Very educational and well worth the time. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Beautiful location.
My husband and I took the tour this summer. The grounds are beautiful and the tour guides were very passionate about the mill. They were very informative and the tour included videos and pictures documenting the mill from the time it was in disrepair to its current state. After the tour you are welcome to walk the grounds.
