Every year in April the ODNR host a Trout Fishing Day for kids 16 years and under. I take my grand daughter every year and she catches four nice sized rainbow trout for us. She is 10 years old and still wont touch a fish. No problems with the worms and baiting her own hook. Last year she caught her first JUMBO perch and had to wear a glove to hold it for a picture. Some day she will...I HOPEThis metro park has a sledding hill and ice skating in the winter months. It has numerous ball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, picnic areas, playgrounds, hiking trails, and paddle boats. It is one of the last remaining strands of the Great Black Swamp. It has a historical 1800s Black Swamp Cabin open to the public. This is a GREAT Metro Park.

If you like trails, birdwatching, biking, playing outside games or having a family picnic this is the place! There lodge is also a good place to rent for indoor functions!

Perhaps a little more Spartan than some of our other Metroparks there is still plenty of variety. A wonderful jogging trail around the entire park I suppose is the highlight. Some wonderful fishing ponds, boat rental and a sledding hill..

For the past four years, we have been traveling from Ashland to Oregon twice a year for cross country meets. Every time we go, I am amazed at how well-managed the park is. From the clarity of the ponds, to the cleanliness of the trails and facilities, it is truly a gem to walk or run through.Pearson has excellent playgrounds, walking/trail-running paths, picnic areas, plentiful parking, and a sledding hill. I wish I didn't have to drive over two hours to get here, otherwise if this were within reasonable driving distance, I would be a regular runner here.

This metropark has deer roaming the park. In the summertime they have paddle boats, bike trails, walking trails, picnic area with grill, shelter house and a great area to bird watch and take in a bit of nature at its best. The nature viewing area is enclosed and your can watch and be out of the elements. There is plenty of places for kids to enjoy. They recently installed a new playground area that is amazing for the kids. If you would like to challenge others to a baseball game there are diamonds there that can be used if the local teams aren't practicing. There are tennis court near the playground area. Your family could spend the entire day at the park at have a great time

I am so spoiled that I have lived within a few miles of Pearson Park for most of my life. When I lived away, I realized how lucky we are to have such great parks in this area. I am now proud to say that I am only 1/2 mile away from the Pearson trails, and they are park of my daily routine. There is a great sledding hill in the winter months, a pond with paddleboats in the summer, and ice skating in the winter. For a small park, there is an abundance of exercise trails for walking, running or biking.

We stopped at this park on our long drive home, thru Ohio, to Wisconsin. Convenient parking and well marked trail and very clean bathrooms. Beautiful pond that our family (2 adults and 3 children,12, 15 and 17) plus Snow Lab enjoyed walking around. A definite must stop!
