Weatherspoon museum is more than what I expected. For a small museum in a small university, it offers a variety of nice collections with frequent special exhibitions. The admission and parking are free.

This exhibit is not to be missed. This is my third time and it just keeps getting better. The museum is located on UNC-G's campus and has changing exhibits during the year. Art on Paper is my favorite.

This is a very attractive museum of just the right size for an afternoon's visit. It is located on the campus of the Greensboro University of North Carolina which in itself is worth walking around. Exhibits change often and are extremely well presented.

For those interested in modern art, this is a local gem...admission is free, nice shop, helpful docents.

If you enjoy modern art, this is the place to visit! It's hard to believe that there is not a charge to enter. The art is beautifully displayed, accessible to a broad range of art aficionados and engaging.Nancy Doll leads a very knowledgeable staff in presenting the museum's work and supplemented with great works from around the country. Feel free to park in the back, enjoy the sculpture on the way in.Enjoy!

The museum, part of UNCG, is a world class museum. It is large, open, and offeres changing exhibits. Historic artists such as Matisse and contempory artist are often features. Easy to park.

Just like being in Washington DC land of free museums! The Weatherspoon has a wonderful collection of their own along with changing exhibits that will enthrall you and challenge your thinking.Spacious high ceiling galleries and a wonderful lecture theater allow the Weatherspoon to offer many events to coincide with their exhibits. We viewed Food for Thought running through the end of August. In addition to the very engaging variety of work the museum presented a series of films relating to food including a light tasting, one Greensboro neighborhood had the chance to work with an artist creating a local recipe and art making activities and other offerings. This is typical of the involvement the Weatherspoon offers visitors and community members. Like so many cultural institutions they are facing deep funding cuts leaving the director and board to come up with highly creative ways to continue the quality of their programs. This is not a giant museum like the Louvre but a pleasant place to spend an hour or so.The facility is quite accessible for wheel chairs from the flat parking lot into the main lobby, galleries and a large elevator to the second floor. I did not check the restrooms for accessibility.Depending on the exhibit some would be of more interest to younger children than others.I definitely would return here.

This art museum isn't that big and doesn't have many exhibits. The exhibits it does have tend to focus on themed modern art. I'm not the big modern art fan so I'm not a good opinion for someone who is if they'd like the museum or not. It doesn't take long to see the exhibits because they only have three rooms with art and they're not huge rooms. The main plus is that it's free and you don't have to worry about parking on the weekends.

I enjoyed my visit to the museum. It was the first time I had visited and there was plenty to see. If you have a chance to get to UNCG and visit this, it is well worth the time. I would call or check online to see what is on exhibit before going, just so you know what is there and if it is of interest to your family.

This museum has a nice aesthetic, IMHO. Small enough to see it all in a couple hours. Friendly staff. Rarely close to crowded. No admittance charge!

Best kept secret in Greensboro on the campus of UNC-Greensboro. Beautiful edifice with local/national and international exhibitions.

This is a decent Art Museum. Most of the exhibits seem like stuff out of someone's garage they deemed art. There were also quite a few exhibits that were inappropriate for young children - nudity and violent. Of course, I understand the art of such things, but it was just weird.

A friend and I went to the exhibition called "Zone of Contention" and spent a couple hours looking at everything. It was laid out very well. The museum was quiet, so we were able to contemplate the works. Afterward, we stopped by the gift shop. The cashier was friendly and helpful. I 'm looking forward to going again.

The Weatherspoon is an often missed jewel in Greensboro. The ever changing shows are always interesting and sometimes edgy. Although they are open during regular business hours, I like going on a Thursday night, the only time they are open in the evening. Since the shows change regularly, there is always something new to see and I always feel comfortable, welcomed by the staff, and right at home there.

tremendous exhibits -- helpful staff but they leave you alone and you don't feel pressured to donate, although it's a pleasure to do so as each time I visit I'm enriched!
