The club seated the ten in a private room overlooking the golf course and we ordered from a menu with many choices. All the items served were excellent. The service was gracious and after a couple bottles of pretty darn good bubbly everyone ordered a desert as well. This lunch we hosted for friends could not have been better. Golf shop clothes were 50% off as they headed to season's end.
This is a wonderful Donald Ross golf course (private club but you can play it if you stay at the Eseeola Lodge). Donald Ross was famous for building his courses to fit with the land. He had no choice since the earth moving equipment in the early 20th century was limited.) The greens are crowned (like Pinehurst #2). Visually very attractive. Challenging but not over powering for the mid handicap golfer (8-18). However, the greens are brutal until you get used to them. I'm a 17 and my friend is a 13 and we 3 putted the first 7 greens. Neither of us broke a 100 on the first day, but on the second day we shot in the 80s. It is all about the short game. You'll use clubs around the green you don't use back in the flat lands ( like putting with a 3 wood from a swale 15 feet from the green edge). Highly recommended.
We are not golfers and the club is private but it is open for lunch and the Grill is very good. Ask for a table on the veranda if the weather is good, The view of the golf course and the mountains is terrific, Excellent service. Within walking distance of the Eseeola Lodge which is owned by the club.
