I am NOT a wine drinker. I found a wine here that I could happily drink. All the wines tried were good but the one we bought was wonderful!. You must stop in here!

In Leavenworth enjoying the Christmas festivities and popped into Eagle Creek for a tasting. I wasn't expecting much (we were the only guests in the place), but we were REALLY impressed with our tasting. We ended up purchasing 3 bottles of the Montage (and had them shipped for a variety of reasons), and I'm very excited for them to arrive later this week! The staff was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. We can't wait to go back.

Five of us (mothers on a ladies-only trip) stayed the weekend at the cottage at Eagle Creek Winery. The cottage was scenically located adjacent to the vineyard with a lovely patio and even a tree house for wine tasting nearby. Sleeping accommodations were ample for five, including two bedrooms with double beds and a loft with a double bed and two twin beds. All of us slept comfortably as the area is very dark and quiet at night. There is a hot tub outdoors which would have been great for star-gazing after dark if we had remembered to use it. Speaking of which, the sky was amazingly clear-I've never seen so many stars. The kitchen was adequate for making dinner, though the fridge was only large enough for a single day's supplies. Continental breakfast was more generous than I expected, with muffins, yogurt, bagels and ham. There is a large, friendly dog on the property. He is quite well-mannered and will not enter the cottage even if asked. All in all the cottage and staff exceeded our expectations. Recommended for a relaxing getaway.

This winery is about 7-10 minutes outside of Leavenworth, but makes for a more pleasant atmosphere in the summer for wine tasting. I'm not sure I'd want to make the trek in the winter as the indoor tasting room has no seating and is quite small. There is a deck with sun and shade and the owner is building a "treehouse" for private tastings. The patio overlooks an acre of vines and a few trees and is decked with white lights and a couple of fountains. You're far from any traffic or noise, so it feels like a bit of an escape. There is a gourmet cheese, cracker, and fruit plate available for around $8. The vintners are happy to share stories, show off their tiny cellar and their private "library" of wines, give you tips about local events, or just leave you alone if you take your wine outside. A couple of the wines were decent. All in all, it's a nice stop on a sunny day if you're headed out to Icicle Ridge or elsewhere. There is a rental above the tasting room which has a bathroom, a small kitchen, living room with fireplace, two bedrooms and a large loft with three beds. There's not much to do out that far and the kitchen is small (only a dorm sized mini-fridge!), so I wouldn't bring the family unless you're only staying one night and plan to just play games, go on long walks, take a trail ride at the stable nearby, etc. But it might be a fun "just girls" retreat location though.
