Make sure you go on a clear day, beautiful view of the Pacific's to the west. I decided to move here from MI at this park.
Tucked away in the trees by the water is this charming little park. Remember to take the skybridge over the train tracks for beach access. Especially worthwhile when the tide is out.
Howarth Park was a wonderful find! Take your camera, because the area is beautiful. There are 3 parking lots at this site. The lower lot requires visitors to climb a few sets of stairs before arriving at the bridge that will take you over the train tracks and to the beach. The middle lot doesn't have as many steps to get to the bridge, and the third lot, is the uppermost lot. There are picnic tables, playground equipment, and restrooms at the upper lot, but no access to the water below. We explored each location and the beach was our favorite.
This is easily my favorite park in Everett because of all the places within the park that are tucked away to which one can escape and explore. For example the tennis courts are sunk down and surrounded by trees and are at the top of the park making for a pleasant and almost private game of tennis. A large sweep lawn goes down from the courts. At the bottom there's lots of play equipment for the kids. Keep going west (100 yards or so, it's big) and you'll be stopped in your tracks by a fence that overlooks the Puget Sound. You've got a great view of the islands from there. But that's just the small top part of the park. This is flanked by a large and densely wooded area that slopes right down almost to the sound itself. The woods are so beautiful and peaceful that they feel almost enchanted. There are trails throughout the woods and then eventually take you to a bridge that crosses over the train tracks and then down onto the expansive and rocky beach (there's sand too). Great place to run the dog. If you go back over the train bridge you can keep going down through the woods until you hit the lower parking lot. My family has loved this park for years.
Lovely place to spend an afternoon if the weather permits, adore taking your lunch and coffee and just sitting in front of the water
This is right around the corner from my home. I don't go there as often as I should. Often go when I have my Grandsons. The park itself is very nice with a few playground equipment items but the real draw is access to the saltwater beach. Check it out! Always worth the trip!
This park is a bit out of way, if you dont know where you are going, but once you are there, there is plenty of open space, and multiple nice viewpoints out into the water. The beach is nothing huge, but it's nice to have a place to relax. It is right next to the main line train tracks, and has a pedestrian bridge of the tracks. Plenty of parking it is only a small walk to the beach, but it does have some stairs too.
We asked for a recommendation at the hotel, and we were not disappointed! This park is right on the water with beach to roam on and water to play in. The water there is pretty cold, but it is very interesting and fun. There's a bit of a walk down some stairs to get to the overlook and then some stairs down to the beach, so isn't accessible via wheelchair. Over all, a fun and cool place to hang out with the family.
Good view of the harbor. Nice big field for lawn games. Excellent on a sunny, clear day. Good for picnics.
This is a park off Mukilteo Boulevard with 3 parking lots. If you park in the lower parking lot, be aware, there are lots of car prowls. Don't leave anything in your vehicle in this parking lot. The park has access to the water via a bridge. The upper parking lot is closest to the bathrooms and kids toys.
Great views small and pet friendly wish it had a bathroom we would have stayed longer. I love this place at high tide we evrn saw a couple of seals
At the top of the hill, there is a playground with a fenced lookout over Puget Sound. It's a shady spot for a picnic (there are tables) or a hike on the marked trail through the woods. The hiking trail was closed when we visited, due to a damaged bridge. The playground has swings, a merry-go-round, and a climbing structure. There are also restrooms inside of a building in this area; however, in the ladies room, not all stalls had doors.Drive farther down the hill and there's a parking area for the beach. This is not really a place you want to load up on gear, because the beach is a bit of a haul from the parking area. You must walk over a set of planks set over wetlands, then up several flights of stairs, across a railroad bridge, then down a large, spiral staircase. I wouldn't want to be hauling a cooler full of ice for that trip! If you have a train-obsessed child (or adult), you can stand on the bridge and watch the trains pull into Everett below you, looking down into coal cars and other cargo. The beach itself is small, and contains sand, rocks, and large driftwood trees. It was crowded on the sunny Friday afternoon when we arrived. There are no facilities, other than those at the top of the hill, so be ready to hike. This park is better suited for those without mobility issues. Parking is easy during the workday, but fills up fast on summer afternoons and weekends.
Parked by the beach, which is gorgeous, but quite a walk from the parking lot, then one of my friend's kids had to go to the bathroom, which was a long long long walk away. Great park and very beautiful, but wear comfortable shoes!
Great hike. Easy no matter what. Walk through a wooded area and over a bridge and you find a peaceful beach with great views. Two parking areas help out but both are heavily used. Take some time for this.
This park is worth a visit if you're in the Everett area. You won't find much other than a few picnic tables and a spectacular view of Port Gardner Bay. If you'd like, you can take an interesting walk down to the waterfront less than a quarter mile away.
