glacial till vineyard and winery

My wife and I went there with a Groupon for a wine tasting and had a good time. The wines were good, the staff was friendly and helpful. For the first 45 minutes we had to stand until a table opened up. More seating would have made a good time great.

I am not a fan of Nebraska wines yet I found the offerings to be better than anticipated. The entertainment provided by Mr. Ward was outstanding along with the guest spot by Rusty Walker.Friendly service and a nice facility.

We visited Glacial Till in early July, was a very worthwhile visit. Good cross-section of wines, from dry to sweet. An excellent port as well. Funky tasting room.

We went to check out the art show, ended up closing the place down drinking wine & listening to the music last night. They served tapas but we were in the mood for something more hearty and found out the Breadeaux Pizza next door will deliver to Glacial Till. That was fun and delicious as well. My sister did the wine flight tasting, wife & I shared a bottle of Saylon Blanc (not sure if I've spelled that right). We had a great time, met lots of new people --- can't wait to visit their winery for their 9/13/14 Festival.

We bought a groupon as we are trying to visit a lot to the areas winery's and hard to pay full price for some of Nebraska's wine(in our opinion) This place really impressed us. A very beautiful and trendy tasting room. There is an upstairs with lots of art work from local artists, nice leather couches etc. We did a tasting and found 2 we actually really liked! We got a bottle and a meat and cheese plate which was very good. The gal that helped us was a very friendly and the tasting room was pretty busy. Of course it was a Friday night at 6:00. This is a great place to have a bridal shower or get together or just have a nice glass of wine. Can't wait to go back!

We love to stop whenever we see a winery on our travels and support local businesses. That's why we sought out Glacial Till. We mistakenly thought they would welcome us just stopping in, sipping and buying. Alas, that is not what Glacial Till Tasting Room is set up to offer.The tasting room isn't really a tasting room. It is a beautiful venue for hanging out, sipping your way through a flight of wines and maybe nibbling the cheese. They clearly are set up for a pay and stay clientele. I was surprised that a tasting for five wines was $5. The staff were condescending, talking down to us with their wine knowledge without asking what we did know or what we specifically wanted to learn. They pretentiously pour the various wines into an endless and needless variety of glassware. Again, for the pay and stay crowd, it would add to the ambiance. For the buying only customers, it adds to the aggravation.The wines are solid. We especially liked the LaCrosse 2011 and the dessert wine, Vignoles 2009 and the Prairie Fire Port. The Tasting Room wants to be much more than a taste and buy moment. The building and what they have done with it is impressive and worth lingering over, if you have the time. Depending on what you are looking for in your experience, you will find that exact blend of great wine and upscale atmosphere. I just felt like they should be able to allow for both kinds of expectations but don't seem interested in pay and go customers.Don't get me wrong. We really enjoy the wine, enough so we bought eight bottles. I would have felt a lot better about the experience, especially considering the amount of wine we didn't sample but did pay for, if they had refunded the $5 tasting fee based on the number of bottles we bought.It is a quality product but wrapped up in needless pretension.

We went here with friends and a Living Social deal. The wines were typical Nebraska/Iowa wines, but it is the atmosphere that sets this place apart. They have a nice serving area downstairs, and a large and comfortable gallery/sitting area upstairs. Take your friends, grab a glass and enjoy!
