Went there to meet some friends, the place was still dirty from a rainstorm and remodeling. We met up and since there was only a cafeteria style eatery we left. Advertising stressed Bourbon Sguare, which we thought would have some food remotely cajun, but there was none. Now I understand why they are closed.
I arrived at BSC at 2:35 am for a 2nd stint after a positive 1st one about 2 hours earlier and having the pleasure of meeting & speaking to Chad, who not for 1 second acted as if his time was better spent elsewhere & had a great guest first agenda. My 2nd stint ended in the same 2nd row bar seat at 3:20am, 45 minutes of which I was not acknowledged, greeted, or head nodded to, 1 time let alone receive any sort of service by the 5 employees who walked w/in feet of me, including the bartender who shortly locked eyes a few times, followed by zero interest of leaving the 1 couple packing the bar area w/ me.Finally, over the humor of it all & just sick & tired of being treated like my presence in the bar was equivalent to an infectious airborne disease, I walked to the sweet older lady in the cage, and relayed my bizarre story, who was gracious & sincerely embarrassed...this mtg happened as the only 2 security guards on duty, tall bald guy and short fat blond woman, stood staring and smirking for what had to be 20 seconds. Wow. Wow.Oh oh oh...I was wearing a small black back pack, because, ya know, they're good for carrying stuff in. The staff working here on Grave is clearly not interested in your experience, is judgmental to the max, is rude, thinks they're better than their guests who pay their checks, and has been absolutely failed by a management team here that doesn't have their staff on course to provide all their valued? guests a worthwhile experience that never will be forgotten in a sea of casinos. Not a humiliating, really just kind of stunning kick in the balls by an entire staff minus 1. What a joke.
They need to get a restaurant manager that has some experiencein running a restaurant..... Very Very poor and not worth stopping
The slots are limited here, but very friendly. They also have happy hour 24/7. Beer and well drinks are $1 - can't beat that.
This is a nice place to go to play the slots. It is not nearly as large or busy as the Nugget across the street but we prefer it. The only place to eat is the buffet which is much cheaper than anywhere else but to be honest, there are fewer selections and the food is average.
Being there one week ahead of the Rib Cookoff, I dropped by to eat in their buffet. I paid half of what I would have paid at the Cookoff, but the food was three times better--and you get to eat as much as you want!! They had three different types of ribs, great cajun food, and the BEST pot roast I've ever tasted (they cook it 15 hours). It was so rich, and all the meat was so tender, I was so glad to have enough dementia that I missed the rib cookoff. What an incredibly wonderful surprise!!! (Staff were all friendly too.)
Clean, pleasant, good layout. Friendly personnel and water tastes good. Didn't stay very long but stopped in for water and use the bathroom. Threw a few coins in the machines.
I was in Sparks for Hot August Nights (this year it was end July/first part August). I stopped at Bourbon Square Casino to cool off from the heat and play a bit. I won and cashed out ahead. Staff there is very nice and friendly; good customer interaction. Its a smaller place and is close to the Nuggett Casino which is across the street in Sparks, Nevada.
Nice casino with less smoke than other casino's I have visited. While gambling bar service was provided. It was so nice even the security person in the morning offered coffee or tea. Good benefits for sign up for players card. Bourbon Square was a nice place to do a little gaming and have a quiet, friendly place to hang out.
We took family here when my son got married it was great food! the prices are a bit higher then I expected. The staff was ok not as attentive on getting you drinks as other places we went but ok. I would have liked to see more of a variety of foods out but what we ate was very tasty with a new Orleans atmosphere
The food is horrible, the eating area is a joke left over from several owners ago. Some in the party got sick. Locals avoid it. The phony accents used are a joke. You gag on the smell of cigarette smoke.
Breakfast is OUTSTANDING, no complaints, love the biscuits and gravy but the BUFFET SUCKS BIG TIME.... the food was not hot, the selection was crappy, I felt like I was robbed having bought and paid for four. It was embarrassing to me to have brought two old friends to feast on such lousy food. I have not brought myself to go back and gamble there or to have breakfast there.... it does not bring good memories to mind.
We love New Orleans style (Cajun) food, we have seen all the hype for Bourbon Square Casino in Sparks we are locals so we thought we would finely try it last night (5/10/14) with friends what a disappointment. First I did not know the buffet was so small (I had never been to the Silver Club) but we thought that is ok because they are a themed casino we thought because they were small they could do a fewer items well. The fish (tilapia) was just baked (very dry) not even blackened fish, beans were under cooked, cornbread muffins were so dry I could not even eat them (my husband did mix his in with the greens and said it was ok), the fried shrimp (popcorn like shrimp) was the worst I have ever eaten, the okra was just as bad (and I love me some okra LOL). I will give credit were due the beef ribs were very good and our dinner companion said the BBQ chicken was good, the grilled veggies were also good, there was no dirty rice (I even asked for some because the item card was there). As for the desserts the cookies were old and stale the apple cobbler was cold and just tasted like caned apples with a mushy topping and the banana pudding had no banana slices in it, it was more like baby food.I will say the staff was VERY friendly and VERY attentive I think that was the only thing that saved the dinner out for us and the fact no matter how bad the food was we were with great company (our friends). What a shame we were looking forward for a choice other than Jazz Louisiana Kitchen
I can't stop going there if you want free money go yo burbon they are so loose you wish you would have known sooner
I had a great time just playing here. The slots weren't packed so tightly together that it made me feel like a sardine in the can. This property has been upgraded greatly with a great atmosphere, and the staff was truly welcoming. They attended to me like I was a VIP. It made me feel right at home, even though I was the complete tourist. I enjoyed it here!
