Surprisingly well displayed collections, uniquely local and quirky enough to be fun.. The Cavin-Warfel rock collection with it's black-light display is a kid favorite, and the mining exhibits bring history to life. The new Airstream/Wally Byam exhibit is fascinating. The building itself is a reclaimed natatorium, with the upstairs ballroom providing beautiful staging for movable exhibits of the rooms in a Victorian home. Both floors are ADA accessible, and the Geiser-Pollman Park across the street is a lovely spot for a picnic when you're done at the museum.

The display of things and stories from this area make it interesting. Wally Bynum who invented Airstream trailers was born here and Leo Adler made huge contributions to this locale. The display of rocks is outstanding. How many kinds of barbed wire fencing have you seen? Maybe 50 or more shown here.

We can here after the Trail, this has so many items, we couldnt keep track of everything but you need to look at this museum, especially if you have ever lived in Baker City.

Interesting local history. People were very friendly and informative. Lots to see for a small attraction in a small community.

The story of just the building will amaze you at the start, and it continues through out all of the displays. The locals did it all and in a great way putting it all together. You'll even see the 'set model' for 'Paint Your Wagon' movie filmed locally as well as a giant rock/stone collection. Allow yourself at least 2 hours and enjoy what the folks Baker City did in the past.

Rich History. Amazing! We love taking the kids and introducing them to the wonderfully interesting history Oregon has.

We love historic museums and this one is excellent. Well curated and worth the visit. The mineral exhibit is exceptional. Don't miss the black light room.

We admit to being hooked on museums, and this one did not disappoint. There's lots to see, and we learned a great deal about the history of that area. The volunteer staff are terrific - so friendly, welcoming and informative. Don't pass this one up if you're in the area.

The weather was not perfect so we decided on a visit to the Baker City Museum. The museum turned out to be a gem. You must sit down and watch the video on the life of Leo Adler. If you enjoy rock collections, you have come to the right place. We wished that we had more time to spend investigating this collection. This museum has something for everyone.

We had been to Baker City before and visited Oregon Interpretive center staying 2 nighs. That was a long time ago. We went to Baker City again on a roadtrip and stopped for coffee. We stumbled into this place to get some information about Oregon Trail and the very nice lady at the desk convinced us to visit the museum. What a surprise! Fantastic to say the least. We spent a not planned 2 hours in here and were very pleased with all there's to see esp the rock shop department. So folks, when you are in this area stay 2 nights Baker City, visit this museum and the interpretive center and spend some tine in historic Baker Cituy! Highly recommended.
