we decided to make one more run at golf before leaving VT. It was a pleasure to play, and as the club pro said, there are no blind shots and it was mostly a traditional layout. We have to say what a great course it is! The greens were rolling about 9-9.5 the fairways were excellent, and the elevation changes were amazing. We definitely will be back! Note; the course is narrow on the first 4 - 5 holes, but there is plenty of room on the fairway. just hit fairly straight and your good. The course plays longer due to elevation changes, but it's not a long course by yardage standards.

Awesome 18 hole golf course that is longer than it seems. the 11th hole is a thing of beauty as it is a long par 5 straight down hill. Do yourself a favor and if you play here, take a look back up towards the tee box on this hole when you're on the green. Absolutely a view that will take your breath away.

Nothing better then breathing that Vt. air and making some pars and birdies! Fun track with a couple really tight starting holes. The course then opens up and it's really beautiful. The greens are very challenging and you'll have to play them to see what I mean. Once youv'e played a couple rounds you will have a know where to hit it. I think Anyone who loves the game will see that this design is special. It's fun and it can hurt you one day and make you feel like a pro the next. Desmond Muirhead did a great job designing the layout. You will love the veiws!

This is a very nice course. Not a lot of water (Holes 6, 7, and the brutal Par 5 14th), but very narrow fairways and extremely well maintained. Look out for the penal greens on 4 and 6 (very fast and ptiched). The view from the 11th tee is quenessential Vermont fall - not to be missed!

I';m glad all the golfers like the course at Haystack. While I don't play, I concur that the vistas from the course are outstanding and that includes those you get while having brunch or lunch in the Clubhouse overlooking the practive greens and the ridgeline and Haystack Mtn that are the focal point from the Clubhouse. What with the temporary damage to downtown from Irene and the closing of some restaurants, my wife and I remembered that we had been out to the Clubhouse a few years ago for lunch and had enjoyed our vists there, so this past summer we decided to revisit it and were glad we did.First, absent were the crowds that packed the downtown Wilmington breakfast places. Second was the relaxing facility, without the loud din of noise, and the beautiful vistas. Third was the fact that The Clubhouse offered good lunches at reasonable prices and on Sundays brinch with a variety of breakfast offerings. For the 2-3 Sundays we visited we chose either eggs or omlets which were done to our liking and were rerasonably priced. Service could have been faster but we werre enjoying the view, our conversation and the refills of coffee.

Really nice course, greens were in great shape. Rented a great house on the course, could have walked to the clubhouse. Too bad we couldn't enjoy the clubhouse, bartender was rude and nasty.

This is a nice course with tight fairways and difficult putting. We went in September in a year where there was not much rain and some of the fairways were not in good shape but the greens were well maintained. Fridays on this course are considered weekdays; we couldn’t find another course that did not consider Friday a weekend, so the rates were reasonable at $56 for 18 and a cart. I don't think it’s worth the $86 charged on weekends. Friendly staff who meet you in the parking lot with a cart when you drive in. Staff inside who knew it was our first time asked if we were pleased with the course. Would recommend if you’re in the area. Breathtaking views at every turn.

This is a solid course that is maintained perfectly - the greens are wonderful. It is has challenges but is generally pretty open with a few blind dog-legs. The traps are well placed without being omnipresent. It does have that familiar horizontal slope that only VT golf courses but only on a few holes and it actually makes those holes more fun. But the best part of the course is its sheer beauty. It has breathtaking views, many of them elevated, or in the shadow of Mount Haystack and Mount Snow. Literally, it is distracting, that is how beautiful the course is. Lastly it is a good value...you'd have to pay double in NYC-metro to play on anything this nice.
