ponce preserve

I'm not very fond of Daytona, so I was disappointed when my mother said she was staying just south in Ponce Inlet.... Wow the preserve she took me too was beautiful. There is nature trails, dog friendly, beautiful beach, places to fish, and showers/bathrooms. We're going back!

Hey folks... the correct address for this park is 4427 S. Peninsula ave. Ponce Inlet. The photos uploaded are WRONG and are actually show the jetty at Lighthouse Point Park, 2.6 miles south. (But go there too)

Loved being able to go out onto the jetty and take pics of the coastline and the ocean splashing onto the rocks. Warning...do not climb on the sand dunes even if you see foot prints. They are protected

This is truly a hidden gem! my family of five walked to trails to the beach, all with a view of the ocean, people fishing, a wedding, boaters, and just people relaxing! Very clean, nature at its finest. The boardwalk was beautiful, we stood to captures the large ocean waves crashing against the large rocks!! The photos were awesome. Some of the waves were so big that we got wet once they crashed against the rocks!

We happened to discover Ponce Preserve on our recent daytrip to Ponce Inlet to fish. What a find! There is a lengthy boardwalk that runs from Peninsula Drive to the Halifax River, and along the way you will immerse yourself in beautiful, untouched, natural Florida. Along the way, there are a few floating docks to launch a canoe or kayak.At the end of the boardwalk, there is a covered gazebo where you can fish and we happened to see a few playful dolphins in the water nearby! We didn't get to go down any of the trails which run off the parking lot or see the Green Mound State Archaeological Site - those were off the parking lot? Perhaps next time!Bathrooms at the parking lot were clean. There is also a great playground for kids.A great find!

it was a nice clean nature trail to walk threw. its overgrown canopy provides an escape from the heat of the day. my wife and i spent hours walking hand and hand in the peace and serenity of the park

We chanced upon this treasure our first day visiting Ponce Inlet and it gave us a wonderful immersion in Florida nature. So clean and well kept! Lovely trails and beautiful native foliage, some labeled. The boardwalk extending over the mangroves to the river enabled us to observe crabs, birds, and dolphins. A great spot to fish or launch your kayak to paddle around. There were yoga classes at the far end of the boardwalk twice a week also.

The hidden treasure of Ponce Inlet! The park is unspoiled natural foliage stretches from the Atlantic beach to the Halifax River, about 1/2 mile. There are miles of canopied winding hiking trails up and down ancient dunes and a board walk through the river marsh. There are 2 playgrounds for small children and 2 covered overlooks from which you can see the Atlantic. The Green Mound Oak tree is hundreds of years old and its sprawling limbs cover about 100'. Behind the tree are mounds that as the story goes, is where Indians discarded their shellfish shells making the mounds. The Ponce Preserve is a wonderfully low key place to visit and we never tire of going there!

This gem is 44 acres set between the Halifax River and the Atlantic Beach in Ponce Inlet FL. It is a walking area in 2 different sections and it is free for users. The section between South Atlantic & South Peninsula Drive has restrooms, a covered picnic shelter, shady trails through trees as well as sunny trails through palmettos. Throughout the trails there are stops for exercise & stretching ( balance beam, leg raises as examples). There is also a playground and a fossil digging area. The trails are not flat and would not be suitable for people with disabilities. The section between South Peninsula Dr & the Halifax River is a boardwalk, well maintained, which winds through the marsh to the river. There are a few covered shelters throughout the walk. This section would be fine for use by walkers & wheelchairs and is a good area for spotting water birds such as herons & belted kingfishers.There is ample parking at South Peninsula Drive. People of all ages will enjoy this preserve.
