Eagle Lake Park has something for everyone. Several walking/biking trails criss cross the park from one end to the next, and it is a very peaceful place to walk. If you walk near the lakes you never know what you might see - one time I saw a huge tortoise that moved incredibly quickly to get away from me! I had no idea they could move that fast! I'm told there are also alligators there, although I have never seen one. There is a playground near the short walking trail and small lake. Shelters 4, 5, and 6 are near the lake and the playground and shelters 4 and 6 are also near small piers that walk out over the lakes. This is a great place for a less formal wedding (we got married there a few years back). The dog park is the best - three large areas, one set aside just for small dogs. If you want to reserve a shelter for a small fee, there is a link on their website so you can do it from home.
Great place in the middle of a city atmosphere to go and ride bikes, and/or walk. They also have a dog park for those who like to go with their pets. Great to see the wildlife while you get in a little exercise.
I like that its not too far from my home in Largo and there are many trails to choose from-- lovely park and also they have a dog park there for dog lovers. I like the water areas and there are some bridges to walk over. I always enjoy my walks here.
I have run and walked in Eagle Lake park. It shows off what is great about Florida and Pinellas county. It is a nice safe place to run, walk, play, bicycle. A lot of Pinellas schools go there for cross country meets as well. Plenty of bathrooms and parking. Trails can be long or short and cross along ponds or lakes.
There are 3 fenced area's to let your dog off the leash and play. The main park is huge with walking/running/skating/biking trails, lakes with fishing piers, a large playground and several covered picnic area's. It is busy on the weekends.
We love taking our walks in Eagle Lake park! It's a lovely County park with nice walking trails, great scenery, and lots of interaction with nature at its finest! We visit Eagle Lake park at least once a week, if not more.
This park is so well maintained. The rest rooms are absolutely spotless lots of ventilation. The lakes and docks are used a lot. The paved paths are very wide and in great shape. The only problem is that the pigs who own big dogs do not pick up the sh after the dogs but this seems to always be the case with large dog owners. All dogs over twenty five pounds should be banned from all parks.Over all the park is a place we go many times each month.
I love going to Eagle Lake Park. This park has everything; walking/biking trails and boardwalks, dog play area for different size dogs, play area for children, picnic areas to reserve, plenty of parking, restrooms and water fountains throughout the park. Staff very friendly and keeps the park clean and neat.
Had our church picnic there for last few years. Good shelters and grills. Board walks out over eagle lake for walking. Nice dog park to exercise dogs, separated by size. Osprey nest in trees and some times Eagles.
This is a relatively new park in Pinellas County. It has a lot of facilities and everything looks new and well maintained. Things are centered around two main lakes. There are picnic shelters, restrooms, a playground and several boardwalks with deck viewpoints on the lakes. There is a nice paved walking trail around the lake for walking and biking. There are also several shell trails for walking which connect with the boardwalks. We enjoyed walking through the wooded and wetland areas and saw a lot of birds. There is ample parking, but the park was not crowded during the week. There is a very nice large fenced dog park at the south parking area. Benches are located at various points throughout. It was extremely hot walking around in June and, as with most places here in Florida, would be more enjoyable during the winter months.
My kids love this park (3 & 5). Good playground, and not a lot of older kids. Fun to bring bread and feed turtles at the pond overlooks. Good 2 mile walk/run path. Nice open field areas for impromptu soccer games.
This is one of the newer parks in Pinellas County, but leans more to the nature park type, vs. the family cookout type of a park. A good amount of nature trails that wind throughout the park and some pavillions/seating areas located over the lake that you can check out turtles and fish below.
I have come here multiple times in the recent months. I had driven by it hundreds of times wondering what it was like, and then attended my neice's birthday party and realize how big it was. Since my wife and I have walked the whole walking trail in the park with our dogs (a beautiful paved walking path). The dog park appears in great condition. The playground and the park overall is well maintained. There is plenty of trees, lakes, and just nature to enjoy. It is a beautiful tucked away gem in Largo.
Went for an afternoon trip to get out and ended up at Eagle Lake Park. It is a free small park with lots of interesting wildlife plants, birds and insects. We saw alligators, birds such as Roseate Spoonbills, diving birds, ducks with babies as well as a mixture of different birds. The walk was on a boardwalk so it was friendly for everyone. The small museum had some interesting facts regarding Florida's habitat. This is a place to go for a get out of the house day.
This is a beautiful facility. Clean, spacious, with over 2 miles of well-marked paved walking trails around old ponds and lakes through old citrus native trees. We were staying at the beach, but enjoyed this park so much we drove there few days just to walk. What a credit to Pinellas County to have such a beautiful well maintained park. We felt very safe walking there - spotless washrooms all over the park, many covered picnic tables and a strong presence of park workers and occasional police patrols. What a great place to walk!
