If you need a good time and lots of laughs, head to Ed Stone park and plant yourself by the boat ramps. You won't catch many fish there but the silly & stupid things people do with their boats are great for big laughs. Never a dull moment...

There is a nice walking path, skate park, pond full of ducks waiting to be fed, and a clean playground for the kiddies. Parking is plenty with easy access to the amenities.

Set on the banks of the St. John's River just west of Deland, Ed Stone Park is a busy place from early morning through dusk. It is the primary launching point for boats in this area with very good parking capacity. It hosts a fishing area that draws many anglers, each searching for just the right bait to reel in a big catch. Its pavilion, tables and benches provide space for picnics or simply a casual conversation. A very interesting attraction is the boat launch area with its wide variety of approaches for getting boats in and out of the water -- the stage for a delightful show by an interesting cast of mariners!

needs to ad soda mechine in park Some of the best water parks, including the two at Disney World, Aquatica at SeaWorld Orlando, and Wet 'n' Wild in Orlando, are based in Florida. What's more, Florida is the nation's only state with water parks that are open throughout the year (well, outdoor water parks anyhoo). Most of the bigger parks are located in Central Florida near the major theme parks, but there are places to get wet throughout the state.
