Newly renovated, reasonably priced theatre In the heart of downtown Lagrange with plenty of restaurants to choose from.
This was obviously a single theater now subdivided into several screens. We were in Theater 4, it was narrow and the screen was relatively small and mounted quite high. Although we sat about 2/3 of the way back, I watched the whole movie slouched down in my chair to keep from having to bend my neck. The theater uses digital projection from a ceiling-mounted projector, and it did a good job with the picture (as far as I could tell). Before the show, sound from the adjacent theater could be heard through the wall, but I did not notice it once our film was running. After the movie I peeked in another theater that was emptying out. It had a larger screen and more seats in each row. I can't recall which number that was.If you're here, it's probably worth just walking around and noticing the remaining evidence of the old movie house that this once was; in the back hallway near Theater 2 and the restrooms there are still visible ceiling murals, and in the mid-building theaters (including 4, where we sat) as well as in the hallway leading to the back theater, you can still see the front of what used to be the balcony.Service was friendly, cleanliness was slightly below average, but at $5.50 per adult we thought the theater was a good value and pleasant night out.
The price is good, the seats reasonable comfortable, the sound system works fine and there are plenty of restaurant choices nearby if you want to eat before of after the movie.
My family of 4 loves to go to this theater every chance they get. The cost of admission is less than $20 and we can get what everyone wants at the concession stand for half the price of the big named theaters. This is the best theater to go on a budget.
For 4 dollars and change, you can't beat this place for a movie! The seats are comfortable, the staff is great, and for a movie you didn't catch when it first opened, there is no better place than La Grange. It is in the perfect location as well, and you can find plenty of parking in the lots or the garage right across the street.
After renovations a couple years ago, and a mandate from distributors, this theatre had to increase their ticket prices. Still a discount compared to most other regular movie theatres. Concession options are so-so, but we never order more than a beverage. Seats aren't very comfortable, but the price is right. They keep it clean and the staff is polite. Check out the beautiful restored ceiling in the hallway/lobby.
You can not bet the price. They play the movies that have been out for at least a month. They did a wonderful job at restoring the theater. It's like the place your parents us to talk about.
Clean and inexpensive. Shows second run features. Has 4 (I think) screens. Consessions are standard fare and price.
This used to be one of those old time movie theaters, but they chopped it up into 3 or 4 little rooms. Screens are not much bigger than a home movie screen. Go to the Tivoli instead.
Tickets are much cheaper saw a couple of movies there. Watch out for the seats some of them are broke. They remodeled this theater nicely done but as time has gone by be choosy in your seating. It's great to see good movies for half the price.
Beautifully renovated to preserve the historic character of the building yet offering modern seating, sound with a great price.
This is my cinema, close to my home and we love to go...It was completely renovated a couple years ago and it is a great, fun and quaint place to see a movie. Perfect for family outing as it is in the heart of down town LA GRANGE, close to restaurants and ice cream shop.
We go to this theater to catch a movie and dinner on Friday nights. It has a great location with month old new movie releases at low prices. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Clean and comfortable seats. Great little gem in the heart of downtown La Grange.
If you can wait a month or two to catch a new release, this is a great option. Half the price of first-run theaters. Friendly teen employees keep the place very clean. Best of all, it is just steps from the many very good dining establishments in downtown La Grange.
Easy and everyone is very kind. Seats are comfortable and the food is on par and the price is right!
