I visited on a daycare outing that included the families. We ended up spending 1/2 a day wandering around to the blacksmith shop, and pottery shop, and cabins. Had lunch at a picnic area and rode the train. Lot of fun for a large group of kids.

We bought a season pass last year for us to use with our grand daughter who is two. It was great. She rode ponies, went on the train ride and loved the barnyard area too. She played in the children's area which was equipped with little tractors and tot cars to play in. They also have a play table loaded with dried corn and little trucks to fill. She enjoyed the boat ride. The big attraction is the merry go round and it is fun for the little ones. There are picnic tables and you can bring lunch or they have co sessions. There is a great play area for kids older than 4 I believe with rope climbing and a fort. We spend a great deal of time at the park in the summer. The pass gives you unlimited access and if you spend one day a week here it's worth it. We spent 2 days a week. The only advise I can give you is to come late morning or early afternoon. In the early morning (before 11:00 there are buses loaded with school groups attending the park but the are mostly done after lunch. They eat around 11:00 so that's when we come. It's very quiet in the afternoon.

Our visit was on a cold winter day just before Christmas. The park is decorated nicely for the holidays and it is really geared appropriately for families and young children. Our two nieces had their faces painted in the Huntoon House building and they loved exploring all of the different buildings, activities, and displays.Of special interest was the blacksmith and the crafts building (Weaver's Cabin) as well as the school house. In the school house, kids and adults could listen to a Christmas story from a holiday classic book.We also got tickets to ride the train around the park. That was the highlight for our group. Despite the cold weather, we all enjoyed our outing at the park.

We love Blackberry farm. So much to do for little ones there! Playground, Train rides, tractor rides, paddle boats, merry go round, and sooo much more. All for a decent price. You could spend a whole day there with a picnic lunch. Nicely run and always clean too!

Blackberry Farm in Aurora is a perfect outing for a family with children. When our oldest grand-children became teen-agers they completely lost interest, but we're so glad that the younger ones still love the place. Every year there seem to be more attractions, and it is amazing that admission is still so reasonable. Being right across the street from a city water park gives a lot of options for entertainment. Figure about half a day to really do this, unless you want to stay longer and fish. I like the way the food areas are on the side and you rarely see people carrying food and drinks around in the park. We have brought picnics along and then it is a frugal outing! Lovely place to go and just enjoy being together.

Did you ever go someplace and think "this is it?" You won't have that experience at Blackberry Farm. One admission price buys you more activities than can be crammed into a day. They have train rides, hay rides, pony rides, petting zoo, carousel, fishing, museums, the list goes on. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You'll love your visit.

I took my kids to Blackberry Farm throughout their childhood and we have many happy memories. In recent years they've done much to improve the children's playland and kept all the historical buildings we remember. Don't forget that they have special weekends in the fall and near Christmas!

Blackberry Farm Village (a part of the Fox Valley Park District) is a great way to spend a summer day, with pony rides, an old fashioned carousel, paddle boat rides, a train ride, hay ride, and a chance to see a bit of what life was like in pioneer times, and around the turn of the 20th century. If your family is in the Aurora area, the season passes are a good value, because you can come for as little time as you like, or make a day of it. There are pretty gardens throughout the park, picnic, and play areas for the kids also.

I absolutely loved Blackberry Farm. I highly recommend it for anyone with young kids.! We were there today (a Friday in September) and there were no crowds at all. My son loved touring the log cabins, pottery house, schoolhouse, and the blacksmith shop! The demonstrations were age appropriate, interactive and fun! Everyone working there was friendly and fun. The crooked play houses with slides, rope activities, and bridges was just amazing!! They even had a zip line for the kids to sit or stand on. It was so much fun. We also did the carousel, the peddle boats, the train, the hayrack ride, and the mini tractors. The farm animals were fun to pet too. Take your kids during the week when it's less crowded and I guarantee your young ones will love it!! For all you photographers, take your cameras. There are so many spots to take beautiful photos!!

My family and I enjoyed an afternoon here. My two youngest enjoyed the pony rides. The carousel was broken most of the day, when it was finally fixed, crowds overwhelmed it making it nearly impossible to enjoy. The grounds are beautiful but the employees are not very enthusiast, the teenage employees seemed bored and not approachable. The guy working on the carousel apparently was tired of people asking when it was going to be fixed as it was apparent in his response. i may visit again if I hear there has been some changes to the facility.

This pioneer village has a small train and carousel to ride, as well as ponies. Then there is a schoolhouse, blacksmith, and potter that kids can check out and interact with. Property has a small home that one can tour to see how people lived in the 1800's, and there are a few animals to pet as well. Be sure to check out the play tractor course, and corn play area. It's great for 2-3 hours of laid back fun- you can bring a picnic or buy food there. Free parking, very clean grounds. A little dated, but it is a pioneer village! Only thing I didn't like was that you have to walk through the gift shop as you leave, and some employees were a little crabby, but it is still a super place on a nice day. Bring swim suits- you can do blackberry farm in am, and pool/water park across the street in pm. Can be crowded in summer because day camps visit. You can call ahead to ask if they have lots of camps scheduled the day you are going. In summer, they offer Little House on the Prairie classes through the park district. Very fun!!! My child loved them!

Its been here for a long time and you will love it. Mainly for younger children. I dont think I would take teenagers there without some small children. There is a water park nearby for the teenagers.

We have come here on multiple occasions, this time however, the carousel attendant who is named Nancy was quite a beast!! Never, have I experienced rudeness like her! She hollered at my 10 year old daughter and screamed to her, " can you read!!??"...I spoke with the manager Cori, who was delightful and sincerely apologetic.Besides the basketcase Nancy, I recommend you go and take the family.It is clean and fun and educational.

Took a trip to Blackberry farm with my school age niece and my mother, who is a senior. The park was clean, well run, and priced well within our budget. My niece said she had the best time ever, and this is a Disney savvy kid. She enjoyed the hay ride, train ride, merry go round, and fell in love with the massive playground. It had multiple levels, bridges, rope climbing, you name it. The playground alone would have been worth the price of admission. We enjoyed the the museum exhibits as well. Didn't try the food, we brought our own picnic to save money (lots of areas to picnic as well). Observed kids from 2 to 14 having a great time. Enjoy!

Great place to take younger kids to, we enjoyed every bit of our time here. We spent more time at the play ground. We rode the train, but would have liked to have more time to ride the paddle boat. The kids were amazed by the old time way of living and the amount of work the blacksmith had to do. I will not forget to plan a picnic next time!
