If you're not a Moomin fan you might be disappointed by how much there really is to do in Naantali. But if you like taking photos and seeing a well preserved old wooden small town by the sea you might want to take a walk in there. They do have at least one really nice restaurant during the summer time (Uusi Kilta is at least my favorite), but most of all I like to just wonder around the narrow streets with my camera. During winter time it's even more quiet as most of the places close for winter, but on a quiet snowy evening it's hard to find place more beautiful.

About 30 minutes from Turku on the .no 6 or no 7 bus is Naantali, which has a lovely old town area down by the waterfront, and a very pretty church. With many restaurants and coffee places, and some interesting craft shops, it is well worth a visit.

As I was in Turku and didn't have anything to do I decided I might as well go to Naantali, a small town located about 17km from Turku. It was fairly easy to get on a bus at the market square and then after about 40 minutes we were in Naantali. I didn't know the exact location of anything but the town is small so I found the old town quickly. I walked around for a bit, admiring the wooden houses and visited a nice museum as well. After I had walked for a few hours it felt great to sit down and eat at one of the restaurants by the sea!

In the ole town there are many ole Finnish wooden houses, some even offer accommodation. Nice place to see and visit, this old town with many good restaurants at the water front with magnificent views. And moomin world just one bridge walk from the shore. There is also a nice swimming beach close to the moomin world entrance :)

very nice summer-loving city to walk around and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere in nice weather. the walking around the waterfront in the sunshine and lazing the day away was really nice. you can walk through the old streets, waterfront and parks in a few hours. we stayed with family in naantali so had the luxury and time to go for runs through the parks and enjoyed the lush greenery and waterfront for many days.if i was just traveling through, i would have enojoyed the town for 2-3 days and moved on

The old town is really nice summer city on seaside. Lots of nice restaurants and cafes. It's good place to relax and walk around. Only minus s parking. It's hard to get a parking place and parking is very expensive.

Naantali old town is not big, but it shows how finland was before architects made it ugly. It's quaint, wooden buildings, narrow alleys, seareeze, little set galleries and café's. There's also moomin but if you manage to disregard that Naantali is definitely worth experiencing at your own leisure. Go on a sunny day, spend the day, don't hurry. Just walk slowly, have an ice-cream. Have dinner. Take it easy.

The Naantali old town blossoms and is full of life in summer. The picturesque old wooden houses and narrow lanes make it a timeless and relaxing spot by the beautiful sea. The boat harbour with its restaurants gather the people for dinner and enjoying the sunset. In daytime the Moomin World visitors fill the walkways and playgrounds (they are all well-equipped and well-kept). In the church park there are free concerts in nearly every evening in July. Parking is metered but the area is easily accessible by foot from the parking areas further away. The seaside walk from the Spa Hotel (and beyond) to the Old Town is beautiful. In winter the palce is very quiet. In Christmas time the Old Town is very cozy.

Naantali is one of the most famous summer towns in Finland. Even our President's summer castle is here. Old Town isn't that big, but offers beautiful old houses, little boutiques and art galleries and of course many different restaurants. Views are amazing and 15th century church and always popular Moomin World are right there too. Summertime overall feeling is international, because there are people from all over the world. About 15km from Turku, so don't miss this if you are in this part of Finland!

Naantali on a sunny summer day is irresistible for anyone who likes decorative wooden architecture by the sea. The old town is not very big, but it has a very quaint atmosphere with old wooden houses many of which house cafés and little shops for tourists. There's a nice park and playground, and sometimes there are performances on the stage. The old town is generally quite green and trees give nice shade on a warm day. The old church is quite interesting as well. Naantali is most renowned for the Moomin world, where thousands of families visit every day in the summer, making the old town bustling, but make sure you stop in old town as well, if just for a cup of coffee and for enjoying the view. It may be difficult to find parking in the old town, though, but there are parking areas towards the outskirts of the old town. Just take a leisurely stroll down the dock, smile and listen to the street performers singing on the way. The view on the seaside is great. There are always boats in the dock, and almost all of the seaside restaurants have seating outside. You should check the prices first though, as some of these places charge too much. There are many nice little bed & breakfast places here in the old town which are worth checking out.

Whether you're going or not to the Moominworld, if you're anywhere near Turku i'd recommend popping by Naantali's old town. The wooden houses are well kept and it is a pleasure to walk the streets, discover a bench and sit to wonder about how little and how much this part of the world has changed in the past 200 years (although it was founded already back in the 15th century!).Besides, there's plenty of very nice cafés and handicraft shops spread around the area to entertain those in search of such things.

Ehdottomasti kesäkaupunkien parhaimmistoa! Mukavia, tunnelmallisia ravintoloita ja viehättäviä putiikkeja. Kannatta poiketa myös illalla!

Merisali tunnelma vetää puoleensa myös viikolla. Hyviä ruokapaikkoja paljon ja ihana vanhan kaupungin tunnelma.
