One of the most beautiful squares in Europe, full of light, excellent place to relax, look at the gorgeous architecture and have a cafe outof doors.
It is nice, but don't plan to be there too long (unless you want to go to one of the museums of course).
The square, the place, has magnificent golden gates, fountains, a stunning statue and even it's own beautiful "arc de triomphe"-stunning and even today the opulence is overboard-sort of makes one remember why the revolution took place, but well worth a visit.
right on the square---awesome quiche for lunch. ate dinner upstairs with view wonderful food great wine nice people
A magic area which bring you several century ago. Even in winter it is something. Numerous terrace around to enjoy this unique piazza. On the lateral of the Hotel de Ville is the Baccara shop to look at the luxurious Chrystal lighting and glassware.
Perfectly built and organised space in end of 18th century style .well known for wrough iron goldened railings and fountains
This square is phenomenal. We were there in October 2014 and they had a WWI display set up that was well put together.
The only one good turistic place in Nancy. Famous- becouse of the past- and in summertime, there is a Sons et Lumiéres show every night-awesome! I saw it couple of times. Good place to meet with friends , drink a coffee (not it the Jean Lamour) In the rue Stanislas theres is a super restaurant, unique, the staff speak french, english, spanish and hungarian, called La Mignardise! The food is amazing quality, friendly staff! Must try it! 5 mins walk from the place.
It's not a UNESCO site without a reason. It's one of the grandest squares of French style, a great collection of 18th century architecture.
This city is a short day trip from Paris. You can get your tickets from home at Captain Train. We printed out our tickets and took off early in the morning from Gare D'Est. Once we got there we hopped on the train and made it to this beautiful little city. It had a Place Stanislas with beautiful building around it and beautiful gates in gold. From there we visited churches and walked around the city to explore. We also went to Parc de La Pépinière and La Basilique Saint-Epvre. It was the second week of December and they had Marchè de Nöel. There were beautiful boutiques to shop for clothes for men and women. The city was just close to the Gare de Nancy and we just hopped off and walked into the city. We ate at Angelūzzo on 45 Rue Saint Dizzier. Very delicious little Italian Restaurant. They even had a little mall called Saint Sebastian. There were shops and shops everywhere. There was an old Nancy as well where the buildings are very old but the architecture is very nice. I loved Nancy, France and I would recommend this city for a day trip from Paris, France. This will take you away from the touristy area of Paris, France and you will go into a nice little quiet town. We met people from all over and were very sweet and they would talk, smile, and greet us with their Bonjour! In a very quiet way. I love France because of the kindness and quietness and whispers of their tone of voice. i highly recommend this city once again!
Beautifull square, beautifull buildings and forgings in black and gold. In the evening also very beautifull with the lights on the buildings. Very expensive to drink something at this square but their aren't many cafes in Nancy to just drink something.
This square is a wonderful place to start your discovery of Nancy. The architecture is stunning, fountains and golden gates seround you.
This square in the old section of Nancy is stunning. The fountains at two of the corners are quite magnificent. This site doesn't take a lot of time to see, but is worth it. There are a few cafes in the square if you choose to linger and enjoy the scenery.
