街上多是卖纪念品的小商店，特色咖啡馆不少，走累了随时可以找个地方歇歇。如果碰上周末集市将会热闹，还能看到画家现场作画呢。

Unfortunately it was not market day, which I have heard is very attractive. I would also like to go back around Christmas time as they have a charming Christmas Market.

Just west of the Ruhrgebiet, Xanten is a good place to be. The market place offer a nice view and, in the better seasons, good terraces for a drink or a dish.

The Marktplatz is a good place to come to for shopping ( three days a week ), to meet friends, to eat an ice cream or drink a coffee in the Italian places.What I dislike are the modern buidings. Nevertheless my favourite house is the Gotisches Haus.

We liked the Markplaz, which is the centre of the town's activities. We were there on a Thursday and there was a small market which sold excellent produce at reasonable prices. Good cafes and restaurants overlooking the square and also the cathedral is not too far. It appeared that there is 3 hours free parking nearby. We got a 10 euro ticket but were there for 5 hours. Xanten is good for a day out but I felt that was enough.

Cosy, quite, nice terrases outside for a coffee, a beer or something to eat, friendly service, vist the old church nearby

Ahhh, yes, I love German markets. Usually, you can get a lot of snacks there to help you enjoy your evening drinking beer with your friends. This one was no exception - we bought a lot of snacks (mainly from one lady from Greece) and enjoyed every bit of it. Also bough some other stuff. Worth visiting for sure.

Nice place to visit during Christmas market...many shops and vendors great "Glu wine" and atmosphere.Not many coffee shops and can be over crowded in holidays

Для такого маленького городка площадь большая. Много ресторанчиков и магазинчиков, включая антикварные и со всякими сладостями. Старая булыжная мостовая, старая колонка и ратуша с колокольчиками на фасаде

Marktplatz, es la bonita, céntrica y principal plaza de Xantem, una pequeña y encantadora ciudad, ubicada a poco más de una hora en coche de la gran ciudad de Düsseldorf.Fuímos este pasado fin de semana a visitar Xanten, y su Mercado navideño, que se ubica en tan coqueta plaza. El Mercado navideño es pequeño, pero muy bonito y agradable, con muy buen ambiente. Alrededor de Marktplatz, hay algún restaurante, ahora en invierno, con terraza cubierta, y alguna cafetería. Esta plaza es el centro neurálgico de la ciudad, y desde ella sale la principal calle comercial de la ciudad, que tiene diferente tipo de tiendas, de ropa, de regalos, etc.A destacar en Marktplatz, un antigüo y bonito edificio, que no pasa desapercibido para nadie y que es la llamada "Casa Gótica".En esta misma plaza, se encuentra el Ayuntamiento de Xanten.Os gustará.

Mooie marktplaats in het centrum van Xanten, er staan hier nog oude tradionele gebouwen. In een aantal gebouwen zitten horecagelegenheden, waar het lekker drinken of eten is. In de zomerperiode worden verschillende activiteiten op dit plein gehouden.

Настоящий Германский центр города. Что бы попасть на рыночную площадь нужно пройти ооочень старинные городские ворота. Площадь вымощена брусчаткой. Работают открытые кафешки и пивные. Нам очень нравится этот город. На марктплатц 2 раза в год проходит Кирмес. Это ярмарка с качелями, каруселями и аттракционами.Оч. Хор

Wel een klein stadje met een enkel aantrekkelijk restaurant en maar een cafe waar je echt naar toe wil.

Piena di ristoranti turistici, come tutte le piazze vicino ad attrazioni. La cosa più bella sono le mura per andare verso il Duomo. Ovviamente, se si è a Xanten, è da vedere.

Bijna alles ligt in Xanten wel aan of zeer nabij het Marktplein. Van bezienswaardigheden totde vele horeca en een ruime hoeveelheid winkels, banken et cetera. Vanaf de randen van het plein worden de overige attracties en bezienswaardigheden duidelijk en goed aangegeven.Parkeren kan betaald, maar in de vakken net binnen de muren en op kleine loopafstand van het marktplein kan men met een parkeerschijf tot 2 uur vrij parkeren.
