This tower was bombed to the ground in 1999, but today it is even taller, and bigger, and in the same spot. It also has a great view and a neat cafe at the top. Quite an experience, plus Avala mountain is beautiful. I recommend visiting when leaves are green.

Nothing special, Great view, visit if you have extra time, because it is not near the city center. From there you have Belgrade in your hands and beautiful clear air..

Very nice view, its so cold when you are on the top but that's normal. The view is fantastic, the ticket cheap but the cafe on the top is terrible. No good service and bad atmosphere.

You're coming here for the view. End of story. And, yes, it is amazing, you may see whole Belgrade and further. Try to figure out major landmarks in Belgrade, and places that surround it.As it always happens in Serbia, resto-bar is out of function. It's a shame tourist money is just slipping through their fingers, for whatever reason. While you're here, do not miss the Monument of the Unknown soldier, very important freemasonry spot, and try to figure out the hidden entrance into its basement.

Be sure to bring a jacket if going to the top. The ticket is cheap (around 2 EUR), accessible to disabled persons. Nice view on clear weather

This monument was built as a telecommunications tower for Belgrade as the capital of the former Yugoslavia. It was destroyed in the 1999 bombings but has been resurrected and is now a viable tourist attraction. On a clear day you can see for miles to the city and beyond, giving you some scope of the actual sprawl of the city limits.

We visited Avala tower as a group and had nice time. It was very warm weather so the view was not the best but we were able to see surroundings. Ticket price is 200 dinars and covers basically the lift ride untill the top of the tower. One flor lower is the coffee bar where you can have drink and view.

Avala Tower is for Belgrade people feature of the city. Wherever we go, when we see Avala Tower we know we are home. It is new tower built again after Nato bombing in 1999. Now, people can go on top of tower and spend some time on terrace and make round view. There is also bar and restaurant so people can have drink or lunch and enjoy the view.

Choose a clear day and go up the tower. I loved the view even though I went there on a day when the rain was approaching. The cafe is on a separate level, so I can't say anything about it.While you're there, I recommend a walk through the surrounding area and a visit to the Monument to the Unknown Hero, by the great sculptor Ivan Meštrović.

The Avala Tower is a 671 ft tall, telecommunication tower located on Avala mountain in the periphery of Belgrade. It was destroyed in NATO bombardment of Serbia on 29 April 1999.Previously, tower weighed 4,000 tonnes . Between 335 ft and 443 ft,there was an enclosed observation deck. From the height of 102 metres to a 135 metres there was an all glass area to which visitors could come via two quick lifts. It was the fifth tallest self-supporting construction in the world, after Empire State Building, La Tour Eiffel, Chrysler Building and Grande Dixence Dam.In 2004, Radio Television Serbia commenced a series of fund-raising events in order to collect money to construct the building once again at the same place it was destroyed.Unfortunately, the cafe, which should serve for refreshment,is not yet operational....However, it is worthwhile to see the tower and enjoy the beautiful nature of mountain Avala. There are plenty of city buses in that direction.Very close there is a mountain Kosmaj, where you can breathe fresh air and eat some of the specialties.....But,we will talk about Kosmaj, some other time.....

This tower looks a lot like CN Tower in Canada! I was very happy with the view. You can even see across the border (100 miles away). As a minus - the only person that spoke an acceptable english was the bartender - front desk, security, elevator guy - very poor english.

Avala Tower is amazing with beautiful view, and seating on top of beautiful small "Avala" mountain next to the Belgrade the capital city of Serbia and former Yugoslavia. On top they have caffe-bar where you can have coffe, drinks and desert.

We went to the observation deck. The view was fantastic, all 360 degrees. on the west there was Belgrade and on the south Serbian countryside. This tower was re-built after being destroyed by NATO in 1999.

I took my group to Avala after a 2 weeks tour in Ex-Yugoslavia and everybody said that it is a great place to sum up a long nice tour of the region. The view are stunning and there is a very nice coffee shop with lovely cakes on top.
